    Lightroom 5.7 wont launch

I use the photography sub service and it works for me. You just need to enter your creative log in. Unless they're having log in issues again, it should work. Check their forums/support pages. Last time it happened, if you didn't log out you were fine, but once you logged out you couldn't get...

What's your most popular photo on Flickr (or other sharing site)?

My most viewed is a stock photo of my ukulele :D I let a website use it on a guide they did, and I get a handful of views each week. I don't think I have it tagged or in groups either :D

    GoPro Hero 4

I noticed this pop up in my feed today: http://petapixel.com/2014/10/08/psa-gopro-hero4s-may-get-dangrously-hot-attached-battery-bacpac/

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

I was pondering this the other day as I'm showing a mate the ropes with his Nikon and I like the capabilities, even on the crop cameras. I'm hugely invested in canon and as things have quietened down at the moment I might just wait to see what comes along. Despite my wide array of lenses I only...

OCUK photography road trip through Europe in May/June?

Sadly my lottery win was only £2.90 so that's me out :D

How do you deal with these nutters?

I'm waiting for these laws to change. With UAVs arriving on the scene and you not allowed to be within 50m of a building taking photos/video, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that law was extended to a general rule regarding private residences. With this example though, it's a clear case of...

    Canon EF 70-200mm F4L

This was the first L lens I bought. It's fantastic, especially when considering the price. I find it MUCH easier to use than the 2.8mkii which is unbelievably heavy in comparison. It's so fast to focus, I was very surprised, and is actually faster than some of my primes. Definitely a lens I'd...

    [PIC_THREAD] People, Portraits, Street

I can't remember if I posted this or not. If not, meet my kitten :D Thomasina the kitten by Niall Allen, on Flickr I've renamed her, Kitty (as in the character from That 70s show, because she's nuts) :D

    Canon 7D mk2 Thread

When I bought my old 60D I thought the swivel screen was just a gimmick but it came in very useful for macro stuff, and shots when I was in cramped spaces. That being said, I didn't use it much, but if it came with a camera at no extra cost it wouldn't bother me a bit, especially as you just...

    Canon 7D mk2 Thread

I'm curious why they'd add GPS to the 7DII. As the 7D is mainly used for sports & wildlife I'd have thought wifi would be in demand to transmit photos on the fly. Well, that or having neither GPS or Wifi. Seems like an odd feature to add as most people will strip geo data from their images anyway.

Is the flash the most difficult aspect of photography?

I can vouch for this method. I asked on here when I needed settings in a rush once. It works perfectly in manual and is much easier than you'd think. Just lowering the ISO to get the level of lighting you want, works a treat :) Sods law, I've only needed to use the flash twice since I bought it...

    Looking for creative inspiration

Personally I use my name, and as I do gig photography as I prefer that, I have a guitar silhouette as a part of it. Like here: https://flic.kr/p/ooexmw While I could have made it myself, I decided to pay my friend to make it for me, as it's good to go down this route as it helps spread your...

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Surprised no one has mentioned this. That's a great quality image, even more so when you consider the price of the lens! My dad gave me a pile of his old gear from the 70s/80s. Mainly filters, but I found this in it: http://instagram.com/p/sXjxa4LNJd/?modal=true :D

    Canon price cuts

Probably because no one is buying it :D In all the things I follow online I still haven't seen anyone say they've bought one.

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Yeah that's what I do too. As long as you've got fill lighting, I find the images 'pop' more. I've been lucky about 90% of the time that there is almost always rear lighting of some sort, but occasionally I'm finding I need a remote flash or light source behind bands as they get lost in the...

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Is that two flashes on stands there or is that the event lighting? I was pondering doing something similar at specific gigs, as the drummer seems to get lost in the background at some events.

    Anyone fancy a £99k, 16.5k lens.

I'll wait for the Sigma Art version :p

Spec me a general use lens

I just ordered my UAV from the main company in China and it was here quicker than a UK stockist could offer, tax paid and everything. Not sure why UK companies can't do this, outside of the large ones of course.
