I'd assume moving backwards means someone who got through before the pre-order has been added to the queue maybe? if something was damaged or missing that seems fair (you'd certainly not expect to be added to the back of the queue) I ordered 5900x on Sunday, mainly as a backup, but interesting...

Didn't something like that happen a while back with Avocados? :D Not that I'd personally consider them 'food', but supply was low, prices went up...

Not sure if it's the same retailer, but the updates I've seen this morning show them informing some customers their backorder won't be fulfilled until March. Others are receiving the same email saying 21st December. I don't think it's a case of no more stock until 2021, just not enough to cover...
