I did have it separate, but then you have two devices on 24/7, both drawing around 10-20W.
It is a pain when you restart UnRAID, but it only takes about 5 mins for it all to restart and I only do it every few months so it’s not a massive pain.
Uptime in the last 6+ years has been pretty much...
Opnsense here for a good few years now too. Setup as a VM on UnRAID with passthroughed NIC, 1GB RAM, one E-core assigned of my i5-13500.
Used to be pfsense but the shenanigans put me off them.
Great thanks.
Curious to the stats, how many accounts have lost access?
Also curious to the demographic of the 20+year accounts, I was a young teenager with lots of time on my hands back in 2004, now with kids and a busy job means my spare time is... limited.
Currently waiting for some paint...
Sorry I'm confused, I thought Feek just confirmed GD does not count?
Does everything bar New Members and Testing counts towards MM, but overall post count it does not?
Hah fair enough, let me change my statement then... I don't remember reading it. If I had read and understood I'm 90% certain I would have made the point that it may not have the effect that you are intending and there are multiple reasons why long standing members might not post anymore.
Being...
I can't see when I was last selling/buying in the MM (as I can't seem to see my feedback anymore either unless I'm being silly), but I have to also echo that I did not see it either.
Whilst I appreciate the good intent on ensuring member participation outside of the MM, I only pipe in on...
Echo all the above about UnRAID. Been using it for 10+ years now.
I would recommend swapping all your 8x4TB drives for 4x10TB drives.
I did this a few years ago and there was power and performance benefits across the board.
Also if you’re concerned about write speeds, install the turbo write...
Have been running PPPoE FTTP with Opnsense for years, no noticeable ping spikes.
Running as a VM on UnRAID with a 8600T (two cores assigned) and a 13600 (two E-cores assigned).
Take the dGPU out.
Turn off the PSU.
Connect to the motherboard HDMI/Displayport.
Set the BIOS clear jumper as per the manual and leave for 60 mins.
Remove the BIOS clear jumper, try again.
There is no real reason why settings to defaults would cause it not to work unless by coincidence...
My S8 is now failing to fast charge via any method now too (MBP 16", Dock and iPad Pro charger)
Updated to 9.3, force restarted, still slow charging.
Can't really be bothered to reinstall watchOS but think I'm going to have to at this rate.
Frustrating!
I’ve been using OpnSense with my 500/70 connection with BT then EE for the last 30 months. PPPoE.
It has been faultless.
Get full line speed with one core of a i5-8600T assigned to the VM along with 1GB RAM.
Used to use a 4-port NIC in my UNRAID server running pfsense, then switched to opnsense.
Now running opnsense on a HP T620 thin client with the same 4-port NIC, routes my 500/70 FTTP service very nicely.
Should also do double that too, although might not upgrade to the 900/110 service to try it!
Been running UnRAID for years now.
Easily saturate gigabit reads and writes with the right settings.
3x14TB, 1x10TB currently from 4x10TB.
Lots of options and very configurable.
Try a secure erase and try again... Read speed and IOPS are fine so I don't think its quite dead yet...
Can do it via a USB stick flashed by Samsung Magician (See data management --> Secure Erase)
Alternatively via Linux... https://grok.lsu.edu/article.aspx?articleid=16716
Quick google suggests that Microsoft is now using AVX extensions to accelerate parts of windows and hence now the AVX offset will be active permanently.
The AVX offset was there to allow for higher base frequencies/overclocks on non-AVX code which is ‘easier’ to run.
I’ve always run a zero...
Seems like a lot although X58/X79/X99 did always have very high idle power usage.
My E3-1230V3, X10SLL-F, 16G, 8x 4TB (although now 4x10/14TB), 2x2.5" + 2xSSDs + Quad NIC + 660W Platinum PSU idled at 35-40W (30-35 without the NIC) when the disks were spun down, or 55-60W otherwise.
