Upgrading 4090 to 5090 - minimising upgrade cost.

Nvidia have learned from their pricing mistakes with the 4080super coming in under the old 4080’s msrp. Similarly to sell the 5080 they will price it to just over a grand. (Max 900-1050). A 4090 sadly is soon to be past gen and likely feature locked out so £1K for used currently seems...

Upgrading 4090 to 5090 - minimising upgrade cost.

Tbh a used 4090 in my mind is not worth more than a grand at this late stage of the cycle. A 5080 would likely cost £900-1000 and perform within 10% of a 4090 with possibly 16gb vram.

    Mixing RAM :)

Thanks. I might wait for a 32gb kit deal and then give my sticks to my brother.

    Mixing RAM :)

Anyone got any experience with mixing ddr4 ram? I’ve got some ADATA Spectrix d60 CL17 3600mhz 18/18/42 16gb (2X8gb) and I want to add some cheap ram- saw Klevv (SK Hynix) 2X8gb 3600mhz CL 18 22/22/42 elsewhere at £30 looking tasty. I’m running out of ram down to 0.9gb when playing COD and...

Just echoing what @Joxeon theorised a few months ago. I’ve lost track of what is reality now! AD103 (4080) = GA104 (3070)

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

And people are buying them (4080/4080 Supers) now out of necessity as they held off upgrades for so long from 10 series. This unfortunately is sending out the wrong messages to Nvidia. If the 4080 is actually the real 4070 compared to past gens’ then the XTX is the real 7700XT/7700 - :( I...

You mean if they released the 4080 as a 4060ti/4070 which it should be according to past gen die size?

That looks so realistic and amazing Mrk! Why did my game look duff?- probably as I could only do RT ultra with FSR- which frankly sucks vs the evidence you’ve posted. I’ll wait for a cheap 4090 used or string it out till RDNA5/60 series.

It’s the 1080ti successor then. Best gpu that will transcend 2-3 generations. That’s interesting that path tracing is already maxed out and the 4090 handles that tremendously well. Do you think the ceiling has been hit with traditional rasterisation? You are enticing me to upgrade!

Do you see the 4090 lasting for about 5 years at 1440p ultra settings? (Presume 4K at >144fps will last for 3 years?) RDNA5 has a LOT of catching up to do!

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

    I think £1399 and the 5090 at £1799

***The RX 7600/XT RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT and 7900 GRE owners thread***

I have a 7800XT mba, I manage to get vram to clock to 2600mhz with fast timings on a core voltage of 1020mv, min core clocks 2600mhz and max at 3075mhz PL+15%. All stable in COD etc and getting 21828 on Timespy and 10300 on Timespy extreme. Quite pleased it exceeds a 6950XT at stock. This will...

So Joxeon are you saying the 5080 will be like a 3080? (A compelling purchase)
