Transfer files over lan, can't use wan

That's what a thought, but I'm sending the data from a gigabit nic to a gibabit router, then to a 100mbit nic. So, I should be fine, no?

Transfer files over lan, can't use wan

Yes, not just a little slowly, but slows to a crawl (minutes to load a webpage, timeouts, 600ms pings). I never remeber having this problem before when transfering lots of local data.

Transfer files over lan, can't use wan

I'm currently experiencing a problem where if I transfer a file over the local network, my internet connection will suffer - pings to the bbc rise from 5ms to 600, and web pages load slowly, or just timeout. Any ideas why this is? Looking at the task manager, 100% of the network is being...

    External Hard drive heat

Ran out of sata slots, so got a 3tb external USB 3.0 drive, a Hitachi Touro. Speed is great, price was great, but the heat is very worrying. HD Sentinal reports 56C after a day (from 20C), no matter if it's idle or thrashing. Will this be OK? Not much I can do about it, but concerned that...

    Spark from motherboard

I've now tested the PSU, it's dead. Managed to take get another PSU from my HTPC, and it boots into windows (using it now to post this). However, I'm worried about the bright white flash and spark that came from the motherboard - or should I just be thankful everything works and not worry...

    Spark from motherboard

An old enermax noisetaker, 485w PSU, and a new Asrock 970 extreme three. Not overclocking, system not used for gaming. I've checked the socket and all seem fine. Should I source another psu and try it? Really worried I've damaged my motherboard, memory, cpu, hard drives etc.

    Spark from motherboard

New build, been fine for a month now, running 24/7, no problems. Today I was running a process which was using 100% cpu for about 10 minutes, when suddenly the computer just died, no power. Power switch wouldn't work, so took the side panel off and everything looked OK, so I switched the PSU...

New hard drive - sound stutter and mouse lag when accessing

I have an NF4 DFI motherboard, all four sata slots used, just got a new Samsung HD154UI 1.5tb. It's very fast, HD Tach reports an average of 80MB and a burst of 250MB, it's quiet and cool, and HD Sentinel says it's fine. Joy. But, when the drive is being read at full speed (not written to)...

ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe True HDMI Sound Card

The trouble with analogue is there can be no post processing - no audyssey, no THX, no 5.1 to 7.1, no height channels etc. That's a big loss imho.

ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe True HDMI Sound Card

I know. Most companies say yeah it starts with a '9' but that's the manufacturers part number which also starts with a 9. All this and £160 just for the "Protected Audio Path". What a load of PAP.

ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe True HDMI Sound Card

Overclockers can't confirm that they have the new '9' or older '8' version in stock. Nor can ****. Bloody useless. No one wants my money it seems. At least ******** checked for me right there and then, they had the '8'.

    Xbox 360 wireless bridge

Have been using xbox live with no problems using a wireless bridge. I was using a really crappy belkin usb adapter but that would every so often timeout for a few seconds which would kill gameplay. I tried a friends lynksys and it would never timeout, so I decided to buy a new belkin pci card...
