I like my OLED a lot but would worry about gaming on especially at high brightness in a living room. I have the brightness set down as watch in pitch black cinema room and have still had temporary image retention on it from menus in applications sometimes (although not often and has happened...
I would like to have RGB fans in my case and quite like ring style ones like Alpenfohn wing boost 3 however I'm not aware of any they can be used as intake with the halo visible? Does anyone have a recommendation for halo style RBG fan that looks the same when being used as intake or exhaust...
@Vidar thank you for the detailed reply. I purchased and it along with a 2080ti. I figure the 2080ti is bad value for money but should be able to get the best out of games on this monitor for a while and I will put in my wife pc when I upgrade.
Smaller space than most vr games. You ideally need a little sideways movement as blocks are slightly off to the sides. If you watch argumented reality videos of it you will see the space being used is small. I think you would need a 6 X 4 ft space.
What GPU would be needed to make the most of this monitor. Thinking about getting this and a 2070 super although I could even stretch to at 2080ti I feel it is over priced and new cards next year means it may not be a sensible purchase. Also people who moved from older ultrawide VA panels did...
I would ultimately like to do a hard tube setup however would certainly consider starting with soft tubing to save some money and make setup easier. I can always change to hard tube setup in a year or two.
That's a big difference on price for the RAM think I will have a play with spec.
I do...
Has anyone who plays expert plus gone from rift to rift s, did you find the tracking better, worse or the same. I get tracking issues every now and then and was wondering if upgrading to rift s may help.
I notice image retention on my oled quite often dread to think how bad plasma would have beenb(never owned one). Although my oled seems to have become less prone to image retention the more I use it. I have had the Netflix pause bar visible in grey scenes before despite the fact It had only...
I have never build a water cooled setup before so would be grateful for any advice (I am aware I am missing fittings). I have gone for AMD build below but should i be considering Intel? I will mainly use this for gaming on 1440p ultra wide (need to get monitor as well but not part of this...
Yes and made no difference on first set. The second one had been slowly improving just due to automatic pixle refresh and am now very happy with uniformity. However set seems to be suffering very badly from image retention. I have done two manual refreshes and can still see Netflix pause bar in...
Well some good news is unlike the first TV this one is improving. Gives me some hope. One strange thing I have noticed is this panel seems a lot more prone to temporary image retention. As an example I paused on strange things (for a minute at most) title text was retained 5 min later and...
It does not need to be perfect, I will not return if I only see it every now and then. At the moment I see it several times per episode of varried content. The last one was bad in very dark scenes (however fine the rest of the time) the new one is bad in lighter scenes but not too bad in dark...
I am using a long exposure thus why text looks too bright, and it looks fuzzy. In a very dark room the screen should be slightly off black. I would describe it as black if someone asked what colour it is. In reality its murky black with a white grain affect. Probably in a lit room it would...
I would never look at 5% untill I have already seen issues. I then do mainly to document for exchange. The banding and uniformity on this one was visible in intro to strangers things. Going to go a good amount of watching tomorrow and will see where we end up after more compensation cycles...
Games that were best value for money for me are
Beat Saber
Lone echo
I expect you to die
Super hot (until Steam/oculus bug made unplayable, get it on oculus store)
Bridge crew if you can find some good people to play with
Robo recall
Dirt rally (with wheel, may be a bit meh without)
Beat Saber has become any addiction for me. When I started expert seemed impossible and the feeling when you complete one feels amazing. Now I have the problem that expert feels to easy and a lot of expert+ is still too hard. I know it will click eventually.
Honestly I would watch some varried content in a dark room during the return window and see if you notice any issues. You can use test slides with low percentage grey if you want but has the downside it will show uniformity issues (almost all have some, 5% grey could look very bad but normall...
Hardly ever if you excluded beat saber, I find a lot of vr games have limited replay value and not enough AAA style games. However I play beat saber several times a week.
You haven't played beat saber? Beat Saber is the main reason I have not sold my rift. I nearly did not buy as I had never liked a rythem game until I played beat saber.
