Like others, I have decided to pull out of this absolute mess. Ordered it on the 8th of October, almost 11 months ago. Wish I could have gotten a card but no proper alternative was offered and frankly asking for more money for a lesser card is a spit in the face. Here is my queue progression...
I'm pretty sure they hinted at having to offer the new LHR as upgrade offers (so its not free) instead of just giving them to fulfill orders. I'm #2 for the 3080 TUF OC.
I'm in position 2 for the TUF OC and the prices are a joke (for the whole market, not pointing to OC alone). It's not feasible for me either, the past year has been rough without needing to pay double the original price.
Edit: I do appreciate the efforts for alternative options though, just not...
@Rev85 You can't stop progress... Also I'm sure many like myself are in the same boat, I'm running off a slow working GTX 980 showing problems. I recently upgraded from an i5 Sandybridge to X5800 (entire new computer), once I get my 3080 I look forward to not having to upgrade for at least...
As @G Byram said, CL18 is not bad. I built my new computer the same time as 3 other friends, I use CL16 and they used CL18, all at 3600 with Ryzen zen 3, all our computers are super fast for gaming and can't see the difference.
edit: just @ing properly
I'm a bit out of the loop on current trends, why are things looking bleak for Asus? I'm POS 16 for the TUF which seems like its still moving a teenie bit compared to the strix
