First PSU was a Corsair TX850 which is about 9 years old. I replaced it for a NZXT C850. Coil whine from the GPU was exactly the same with either PSU.

UPDATE: I just got my 2nd HOF card today and the coil whine is just as bad as the first card. I'm really disappointed and not sure where to go from here especially as the prices of 3080 ti's has increased. I might try a 3rd PSU but I doubt it'll change anything. Don't buy this GPU.

No I haven't yet as I'm still waiting for the refund from the Gigabyte. This doesnt sound very promising though... I was hoping mine was a one off, unlucky card. However customer support from overclockers has been good. I'm hoping the next card will be problem free.

I'm going to be taking another chance on this HOF card as the Gigabyte Eagle I got today has a faulty PCIE port and I cant fit my psu 8 pin cable into it. So this is going back as faulty. Hopefully when I get another HOF it won't have severe coil whine... just a note, the HOF needs 3x 8 pin...

Nice looking card, good performance but mine has massive coil whine, like really bad. So it's getting sent back for refund.

Ha, yeah it sure does produce some heat. It is a shame as apart from the coil whine it's a nice card. I can tolerate some noise, but this is really bad. Never heard coil whine like it before.

Exact same card? That's interesting, I was going to get a gigabyte eagle instead to try and avoid a repeat issue with this KFA2 card. Maybe I just got an unlucky one...

Yeah definitely not the PSU. I just tried 2 PSU's, 1 powering the PC and a separate, external PSU powering only the GPU. The coil whine is coming from the GPU.

Just tried undervolting as suggested and unfortunately made no difference.

Thanks for the info guys. I have found that the ultrawide resolution is rather demanding on the fps, so hence my concern about losing g sync, although I am on a 2060 atm, so a fairly big upgrade if I go 3080 or 6800xt. I'll have a think about it and try and make a decision!

Thanks for the reply. It's an AOC AGON AG352UCG6 which I believe is one of the older ones, so not AMD compatible? I suppose I could test out some games atm with g sync turned off, see if I notice any differences. Would be a shame to miss out on my monitors main feature, also would be a pain...
