    CPU Fail ? 5600G

Team Group Vulcan Z T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey How do I check XMP (no access to BIOS, as it won't boot that far)

    CPU Fail ? 5600G

nope - different BIOS isn't working. Taken the CPU off the MB, can't see any physical issue, re-fitted, same problem. Whatever the issue is, it now appears full time, just won't boot at all. I've no spare kit, so can't swap CPU or MB - looks like my only option is to buy another MB/CPU, which...

    CPU Fail ? 5600G

Going to try to go to the previous version, see if that's a fix

    CPU Fail ? 5600G

Left it running overnight, on the h/w monitor screen in bios. All still running this morning, CPU was on 33c @10:30 and still showing that this morning. Appeared all OK. Switched it off and back on - CPU Fault light on the EZ Debug on the motherboard.... I've tried 4 reboots, all the same. Only...

    CPU Fail ? 5600G

I did as I was building it, went for the penultimate one (not the beta). Did that 'cpu less' prior to build. I've replaced cmos battery and reset, and it's booted - it's 1.5 hours since failure. Have gone into bios and running hardware monitor screen. Been booted 5 mins, cpu at 32c, system at...

    CPU Fail ? 5600G

I'll try a cmos reset, thanks. I assume the CPU can't be dead else it wouldn't boot some time later. If I power off and leave for 5 mins, still shows 'no/failed cpu' instantly. Might replace the battery and reset CMOS...

    CPU Fail ? 5600G

Hi all, I just built my first PC for several years. All works fine - for about 6 hours. At which point, the motherboard shows a 'no CPU' light on the EZ debug. Power off/on doesn't seem to fix it at first. Yesterday, I left it powered off and unplugged overnight, then it was OK again for 5-6...

Bought the Ryzen GPU last month, going to get the rest in the next couple of days - only just seen the B450M is out of stock - is this good as a replacement, in terms of compatibility with GPU/RAM/Power etc ? My basket at Overclockers UK: 1 x MSI MAG B550M Mortar (AMD AM4) B550 Micro-ATX...

Sorry, yes, I understand that - I was basically trying to confirm how to get the drive recognised prior to installation of windows - I.e does bios recognise the drive and is 'secure format' performed via bios? Threepwood suggested bios wouldn't recognise the drive, so I wondered how he had...

I assume that I can boot up, go into bios, and secure format the drive, prior to then restarting and booting from a Windows install USB (for starting the Windows install) ?

I think I'm gonna go with the apu, at least as a start. Thanks for the note around needing a bios update first, looks simple enough to do pre-processor. I'll probably buy the parts over the next couple of months, then we can build it together as an early Christmas gift. As a nod to her rgb...

upgrade options in the future do bother me a little, but I'm some way from that just now I think. I'll take a look at a few reviews before buying though, thanks

Not wanting to deviate too far from op's question... I'm wanting to build a pc for my granddaughter and its maybe 15 years since I built my last one... She is mainly a minecraft and roblox player, currently running my old gen 3 i3 3200 with onboard Intel 2500, so I'm thinking the build...
