LG CX (C10) OLED 2020 Thread

had the OLED 55 CX about two weeks now. Great stuff (coming from a 11 year old sharp - still works though)! Anyway, any suggestions for a good sound bar £200<> or thereabouts? With good bass/mids etc? The TVs actually quite loud for audio, but probably needs a bit more kick for films etc.

After new OLED/4k tv -but dish “miles away” any adaptors that work?

Ok, thanks misschief. I think cables (extension ones) are probably the best option, as not easy getting installers out during lockdown etc. Not sky, no - just a satellite dish for my Freesat box 10 years go!

After new OLED/4k tv -but dish “miles away” any adaptors that work?

Good afternoon. Not got a 4k tv yet, but my 10 year old sharp (37inch) - though serving me well, needs upgrading. I’ve got my current tv connected to the satellite dish and and an old humax Freesat box. However, I need a new tv now - preferably 55 inches. The location for a new 55-incher’...

    iMacs get a spec update

As a potential first buyer into the Apple world of “pc”s (ipad/phones apart) The imac is a thing of beauty ! Bezel and all. The imac bezel identifies it as....an imac!, not a 4k lg bezeless’ monitor. Yes, there are these slim monitors, then there’s the imac. Why would slim/small/ make it...

Are there any 46” 4K TVs knocking about ?

Thanks. I’ll google them up tonight and see what’s what. Ill probably get a good one, as will last a few years hopefully. Just a side topic: is it possible to put my hard drive full of recordings (and valuable ones) in to another tv ? As I hear Samsung TVs, once you format the drive, can...

Are there any 46” 4K TVs knocking about ?

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

Hi dl888 Well my disabled brother (though mentally handicapped is a better definition with severe epilepsy) went in to the home June 6th last year, so that’s about £1100 Ive paid so far, verus £660 for all my 3 siblings combined. ill have to warn them that care homes DO go up, and the...

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

Ok, well it seems most people in this thread (not all) think I should sell and put the money.proceeds towards my brothers care. Ill unilaterally make my decisions and not bother my family on this issue. Ill probably save the conventional train sets I brought my disabled brother over the last 3...

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

Cheers telecaster. Good info there. @wordy. It’s possible to erect a limited train set in his room as it’s quite big at 20x14 with plenty of floor space. I think a small layout would suffice anyway since his cognitive skills and communication have deteriorated quite a lot. So a full blown...

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

You mean what was in the house at the time the will was made? As Since’ the will was made, some things have come - and gone. I spent £6,500 on a special needs shower for my brother last year for my/our house - out my own money. thanks.

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

Thanks speedfreak will take that on board. I dare not mention to my family the fact that care home charges do (and will increase) and top-up fees are part of this. I definitely wont get any more out of them. I mentioned £20 that they give, but this is an effort and have to *<beg> sometimes. *...

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

Yea lol. It’s not that big actually, it just fits well in my front room. Wasn’t mentioned in the will, but solicitor did ask what its worth, and he agreed it should be mine (I’m the only one who plays it) all family were present at this time.

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

I had financial assessment before he went in the home. Anything BELOW £23,250 (may have changed now dont know) means he doesn’t have to pay anything at all, and the house isn’t taken into consideration. It was below this amount. Anything above this means he would have to pay full costs until...

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

Thanks RDM If by law, the train collection counts as the “estate” though not mentioned in his will, and that it should be split between all family members, then I’m happy with that. But where does that leave : The grandfather clock? China cabinet? ,bone china, plates, ...garden tools even...

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

It was a hobby of my father and brothers actually. My father setting it up (or building it over the years ) with my brother watching him (and train videos) in the olden days (talking of periods from 1970-2005 or thereabouts off-on) they had a close bond my brother and my father. My disabled...

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?

Actually trusty, i hear its unlawful to do anything like pay top-up fees from my disabled brothers money. It’s has to come from third party ie: me and my 3 siblings, so in effect, the sale of my brothers railway items to pay for top-up fees would be unlawful.

50-50 willed house to me and Bro, but who owns Train collection ?
