Don't chuck the password through strip_tags as a) it will mean (for example) that the password "<b>password" would be the same as "password" and b) it's going to be hashed anyway so you know it's going to be an alphanumeric string that will be safe to print to a page or insert into a database.
If you have to then try something like dBpowerAMP, the MP3 encoder supposedly stops working after 30 days, it says nowt about the decoding side of things though.

You're pretty much right. You need to install one of the clients listed here. Some routers provide this functionality without needing to install this software. DynDNS provides a similar service too.

Hmm, sides on a triangle are usually labeled a, b and c. Angles are labeled with A, B and C. Of course it sure as hell doesn't matter what you call each side but it makes more sense to stick with convention.
