Tidal doing away with higher tier

I moved from Tidal to Qobuz due in part to the cost, so this seems a positive move to keep their subscribers.

    Fuji X Series

I'd been considering get rid of my X100V as I just don't use it enough - I don't know what the new one being released is going to do to the value of the V models .

You never think you will ever get old !!!

I can't believe I'll be 60 in a few months time when I'll start receiving a pension from a previous job at BT - just as well as I was made redundant at the end of January.. I suspect I'll have to work again at some point, but luckily there's no rush as I've enough to get by. Meanwhile it's weird...

*** The Official iPhone 15 thread (it has USB-C and everything!) ***

I picked up a 15 Pro Max on Monday which seems a big upgrade on my old iPhone 11. I'm impressed by the battery life so far, and look forward to making use of the camera when the weather brightens up a bit.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on Chrono24 and elsewhere. Everywhere is offering 0% finance, but I'd prefer to pay in full.

    What watch do you wear?

I've been considering getting myself a nice watch to celebrate retiring (at least for a while), combined with having a big birthday coming up. I went up to Bluewater today to have a look at the Seamaster 300 in green - while it was lovely, at the current retail price I'm not sure if it's worth...

    Service desk ticketing software

Until very recently I worked for a cash-strapped charity and we used Spiceworks for our ticketing system, basically because it's free, but it actually worked just fine.

    City Fibre

I'd been with Zen for a few years, but could only get about 24Mbps on fttc - they've just upgraded me at no charge and no no change to my contract to full fibre 500 on the city fibre network. It's brilliant, a genuine 500Mbps up and down, and I'm very happy with the whole process.

    Masters of the Air 2023

I've only seen the first two episodes - the scene with the RAF officers was really cringeworthy, but after that it was pretty good.

The µ43 thread - welcome to the really dark side

I'd been kicking myself for not buying an OM1 while the cashback offer was available (I thought it expired on the 31st of this month when it was the 21st), but I'll now have to decide whether to get the new one, or buy a mk1 when deals start to appear.

Best speakers you have ever used?

Best I've owned were Proac Response 3's, the best I've heard probably Apogee Scintillas, though I haven't been to any HiFi shows for years now.
