    Upgrading/Replacing Titanium HD soundcard

I'm not too worried about driving them since I already have the headphone amp that's paired with the headphones. Over the time I've had my Titanium HD soundcard, I've learnt that Creative suck at keeping their drivers up to date and this makes me wary of buying anything else from them. If you...

    Upgrading/Replacing Titanium HD soundcard

I've had this card for a while and the crap drivers annoy me. Is there anything as good worth changing to? I'd like something with decent sound since I've got some semi decent Dali speakers and Beyerdynamic T1 headphones with A1 amp to run from this card. I'd also like to have good in-game...

    Sound has suddenly stopped

My sound stopped working after this latest big Win10 update but that wasn't unexpected. The Creative drivers for my Titanium HD have always been **** and I've had to rely on 3rd party drivers for a long time :/ I just reinstalled drivers and it's working again.

A cheapish automatic for commuting with warranty?

Looking to get a car for my wife to drive to work. The commute will be 45-50 miles a day and the car needs to be an automatic since that's all her license covers. We're not looking to commit to anything more expensive with finance right now so it needs to be cheap - I've been looking at stuff...

What monitor for mixed use - gaming & photo work

Ended up ordering an Acer Predator XB271HU 27" after I saw a good Rainforest warehouse deal I couldn't refuse. It was due to arrive today but I knew the packaging was damaged so when a Flymo box arrived, I wasn't too concerned. When I opened the Flymo box and saw bright orange plastic I was a...

Yeah, I've seem some cheaper freesync ones but gsync seems to bump the price somewhat!

What monitor for mixed use - gaming & photo work

Thanks :) Yeah, I'm not really under any illusion that gaming at anything higher than 1080p will go well hehe. Games can stay there for now but a higher desktop res would be nice. That LG is cheaper than I thought it would be but I'm wondering whether the 75hz max will be annoying for me. Are...

What monitor for mixed use - gaming & photo work

I've tried looking around to see if there's anything suitable but there are so many models out there and so much dated information that it's difficult to be sure about anything! I've currently got a fairly old BenQ XL2410T which I bought before I started playing with photos so colour wasn't a...

More Canada stuff! Full album here - https://flic.kr/s/aHsmbpmcxq The parc itself seemed pretty nice and was pretty natural looking. It was a bit cramped trying to get shots using my 200-400 from the small car we were in but it still worked out alright :) Relaxed Elk by Etienne Fournier, on...

Webcam With Decent Picture Quality ?

Think you might struggle to find a webcam with a shallow depth of field since the sensors are tiny (makes it much harder to get a shallow depth of field). I recently picked up a Logitech C920 to replace my ancient Microsoft webcam. The jump in resolution was quite impressive and it's a wider...

Advice on filters for new camera system

ND and CPL filters have a job so you just make sure you have a decent one and use it as necessary. My comments were aimed more at using a UV filter for protection. If you don't need a filter then my opinion is that it's best not to have one instead of having an expensive sacrificial layer or a...

Advice on filters for new camera system

As I said, with a good filter, you probably won't notice it. What affects image quality less - nothing, or a piece of glass? :P

Advice on filters for new camera system

Filters can keep the dust off and might protect from light scratches but there's drawbacks. 1- Any filter will reduce image quality. With a good filter you probably won't notice the difference but how much do you really want to spend on a dust shield? 2- Damage to the filter could actually...

Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

Yeah... Either birds steal them or they're popular with some other species... I've had various covers from my ST220 disappear :(
