I get that but in my experience having loads of hue bulbs set into rooms, smartthings motion sensors, echos, cameras etc (ie a lot of volume but nothing crazy) the level of attention I needed to pay to make something sort of work was just not worth it. It felt like I was basically geeking out...

Which is totally nuts, they're rare I get that but also certainly by today's standards and even in many ways by their day's they are crap :)
I've not done anything to mine recently other than slowly one by one replace all the INNR bulbs I had as they failed one by one.
Lesson learned, yes hue is expensive. None of them have failed.

Mmm still 6 years, it really depends on how they're kept too. You can get very nerdy with it.
The pics come up so big it's hard to tell but it looks like the tongue has delaminated which I doubt is all that hard to provoke in something that would naturally become brittle over time without usage.

I don't know how old they are but sneakers fall apart with age if not worn regardless of whether they're new or not. Some of the most valuable ones in the world would also be unwearable now.

Mid 40s too, collection totally out of control.. 80-100, mostly Nike, mostly air max 1 but also 90s, 95s, 97s, Jordan 1, 3, 4 and 5 and some dunks.... Adidas, Yeezy, new balance and ASICS.
