Wordle ** WARNING: THERE ARE PROBABLY HINTS TO THE DAILY WORD IN HERE **

100% success so far. I would say it's not really in the spirit of the game but I always start with a word containing 4 vowels. Like adieu, audio or ouija.

That AMOLED touchscreen on the Epix makes map navigation a lot lot better. The battery life isn't that much worse on the Epix compered to the Fenix too. That's really the only thing that could tempt me though, otherwise not worth upgrading from the Fenix 6. And not at £900+

    Platypus' Beginners Guide to Running

To be fair they have only really started offering decent running shoes this last year or so. The most exciting thing is their low price tag relative to the competition. Hopefully it will drag prices down across the board but I suspect it will just lead to Puma/Reebok putting their prices up.

I had Rincon 2's and they wore out after 300 km due to the lack of rubber on the sole. The Rincon 3 does look better in this regard though. Also I think they were also way too narrow in the toe box for me. They gave me lots of discomfort on the medial part of my big toe and ball of my foot. They...

    Platypus' Beginners Guide to Running

Yeah, it's a bit of a dilemma with running shoes in wet weather. On one hand you don't want water getting in but on the other you want water to get out when it inevitably does get in. It's always a trade off. The Hierro's should be ok in most circumstances but probably not the best if you're...

    Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I feel like the major market reaction to Omicron has already happened at the end of November. Much of the news coming out now around vaccine protection seems to be fairly positive. That's not to say there could be some more bad news around the corner, or eventually another variant. I actually...

I would go with the Hierros myself. The Vectiv might tempt me if I could get it super cheap though, but more out of curiosity than anything. Shame you can't get the Speedgoat in your size. There seems to be a lot of delays coming with new releases next year.

Definitely try to keep it up. You will get injured less often and so be able to run more and should enjoy it more too. Don't feel bad slowing down, or even walking up hills if you need to. Make sure you still do some speed work every now and then though. Even if it's just some strides at the end...

It may just be psychological too. Or adrenaline? I don't think that it's that unusual though. 11 miles is a bit to jump straight into after several days without a run, but a 5k will likely be fine the next day if you've done all the recovery things like foam roller, good night's sleep etc.

    New Trainers

Amazing! Let us know how you get on with these. I love my NB RC elite 2's. One of the most comfortable running shoes I've had. What a bargain at £135. I do find the Nike Vaporflys slightly faster though.

My goal was 2,500km which I met around London Marathon time in October. I'm currently at 2,739km but finding motivation a bit difficult at the minute so I could try to aim for 3,000km by the end of the year to get me out the door a bit more.

    New Trainers

Finally, a proper pair of trainers that the purchaser will actually wear :D Adidas have some interesting shoes coming out. It will be interesting to see how the Takumi Sen 8 stacks up against the Nike's upcoming Streakfly

I've been using this Decathlon head torch. The light on the back is a bit misleading in the pictures as its just a battery indicator when charging. I clipped one of these clip lights onto the back of the torch band and suits me fine. However, I have asked santa for a Petzl Bindi as the decathlon...

Talking of ways to carry your phone, the Spibelt was recommended in a video I watched last night. It's a bit cheaper than the flip belt/naked band so might be worth a try.

:p Can't beat short shorts for racing/workouts. My pixel 6 is very large and just fits into those shorts pockets although at 6.4 inches is probably the limit. The pockets are stretchy, except for the zip obviously, so can adjust to suit what size phone you have. I also have the Salomon belt...

    Platypus' Beginners Guide to Running

Not at all. The phone is quite tight in the pocket, so it doesn't bounce around inside the pocket, and the position below the waist band holds it against the small of your back very securely. It does depend on the shorts as my phone did bounce around in these. However these, these and these have...

    Platypus' Beginners Guide to Running

I always take my phone with me for music but also for emergencies. I make sure any running shorts I buy have a pocket at the back to keep the phone in (like these). A pocket here tends to hold the phone tight and distributes the weight evenly so I just forget it's there really. Other people like...
