Is murder sometimes not murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility?

Yes, it is a defence at law to murder. The onus is on the defendant to raise it and then generally speaking if successful a manslaughter conviction will be the result. As to content of your post re serious mental illness insanity is also a defence. You’d get a trial of guilty act as incapable...

How much has your council tax gone up this year?

About 5%. I wouldn’t object to council tax being significantly increased further if it means no potholes, clean streets, libraries fully functioning, playgrounds and parks kept in good order and the types of things everyone can use. I noted a £400 “adult social care” charge and wondered what...

    Garden fence

NEIGHBOUR DISPUUUUUUTE! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!! Tying a bit of string to the fence for things like plants is perfectly normal. If it breaks the flimsy looking solid concrete post then they will have to pay to fix it. Don’t sweat it. Just leave it.

How often do you get a Dominos pizza? (Seventeen year old thread bump warning)

The last time I had one was probably around the time this thread was made. I spent hours on the bog. Tbh pizza options nowadays are really good and going to domino’s Pizza Hut etc when you live in London should be criminalised. You can get outstanding pizzas in just about any neighbourhood now!

Do you charge your children "keep" or rent? Do/did you pay it yourself?

If I did charge anything I’d just put it into a savings account or pension for them and then give it back to them later. But I’d say if I were one of many families who struggle to make ends meet I would certainly charge rent.

Disabled couple snooped on and accused of fraud by the DWP

So why are there so many benefit claimants? The usual cycle of tax the “rich”, blame the tories, blame labour, blame thatcher is never ending without actually trying to work out why there are such high numbers. Sadly though as ever it is the genuinely needy who will suffer whilst politics...

My advice: acceptance, acquiescence and patience. Accept you are in for change, acquiesce to the demands that are necessarily put on you, and be patient with everyone. You will be much better off when you can think this way. What is it that you do that’s SO great you need to mourn it? You’d...
