Can’t we keep all this moaning about the modern world in one thread? Every other thread in GD reads like the comments section of the Daily Mail at the moment.

New Labour’s old soundbite was “Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime”. That’s on the money, if you ask me. If you throw disadvantaged people under a bus, like the Tories do, there will be a rise in crime. It’s not surprising that homelessness is also rocketing.

People voted for austerity and austerity policing. Can’t whinge at politicians when you get what you asked for.

We’ve had really bad luck with monitors. First we had a BT one where the screen died after a year. Then we got a VTech VM343 and it stopped charging after six months. VTech’s customer support is dreadful too.

They’re absolutely not the best of what’s available. Many dedicated and capable ministers have been sidelined by this government.
