No pictures, but I'm on my hols in South Africa at the moment and saw a brand new Porsche 911 the other day. Wouldn't usually be noteworthy except it was being driven through Kruger National Park. Not exactly an ideal safari vehicle, especially if they stray off the tarmacked roads...

    *** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

Answering my own question, but washed the car today and can confirm... Gtechniq W9 seems to have worked well getting rid of the water spots, and unclogging the ceramic coat. Still a few visible, so I might go over the whole car again at the next wash, but it's got rid of the most obvious ones on...

    *** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

Last year, I plashed out on a Metrovac AirDuster for my PC, as I was tired of buying the disposable cans of air. It's incredibly powerful, and I'm thinking about pressing it into service for drying the car. It might not be ideal for such a large surface area, but it would be great to blast the...

    Masters of the Air 2023

I don't think the criticism is so much about not mentioning the contributions of the RAF; as you say, this is a story about the experience of an American bomber group, so I really don't mind that Brits aren't mentioned much. This is their story. But it does seem that nearly every British...

    Masters of the Air 2023

It's not too bad. Certainly hasn't grabbed me like BoB did but as everyone has said, little else does. Does feel a bit gung ho and cliché in places....I'm watching episode 5 now...."for you, zee war ist over"...really? A bit Allo Allo. Still, I'm enjoying the action sequences, CGI doesn't seem...

    Show Us Your Motors!

I was seriously considering the A110 a couple of years ago. Would have been a bit of a stretch financially, but no manual gearbox is a bit of a downside for me. So I abandoned the idea when the GR86 was announced. Would still love to have a drive in one though.

    Your bad driving encounters

It was a mistake. It's not like that driver dropped the clutch and did a one-wheel-peel out of the junction. They made an error of judgement which you anticipated and the result was you had to slow down a bit. By your own admission, you made a mistake of your own seconds later - if you hadn't...

    Show Us Your Motors!

Miltek were a popular choice for the GT86, and as I remember, there were huge numbers of complaints with them cracking and welds failing after a relatively short period of time. I think Miltek replaced them no questions asked, and they ended up with a revised version with added flex pipes, but...

The combination of depth of field and less-than-stellar image quality makes that genuinely look like a diecast model :D

    S2000 owners advice

 I'm not asking because I'm trying to defend it out of some weird sense of brand loyalty. I just noticed that the place that service my GT86 always used Millers oil, so yes, it has "been fine in my car", I'm just curious if there's a reason it should be avoided in future.

The Gulf Stream could COLLAPSE as early as 2025

How much is the Gulf Stream's house worth?

What have you done to your car today?

Honestly it smells quite nice actually...nicer than vinegar which is the usual go-to for descaling. And you can buy lemon juice concentrate very cheap at the supermarket.

What have you done to your car today?

Ahh. Yes. Should have clarified...not completely full of lemon juice, maybe 1 part to 9 parts water. Cleans up the kettle of limescale a treat too.

What have you done to your car today?

Try boiling a full kettle with some lemon juice in it, pouring it straight into the reservoir, then running the washers. I did this with our car when the washer fluid got a bit gummed up and it seemed to help flush things through a bit.

A couple of years ago there was one up my road every so often, visiting family I guess. Used to hear it coming past, always worth twitching the blinds to get a look.
