Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

How long does PTS normally add to the order or do they sort it our whilst you're in the build queue? What colour??

Didn't look at finance so I'm not sure what it would cost tbh.

Yes, I was initially told there would be a delay but the dealers (Cambridge) worked really hard to prep it on schedule once Porsche had sorted out their radio hack.

Cheers. I'll see if I can get a few more pics at some point. It's a Carrera 4 GTS in Crayon. I absolutely love the colour but that's always a subjective subject... Was fairly trigger-happy with the spec: Alcantara Package GTS in conjunction with GTS interior package Rhodium Silver 911...

    Equallogic SAN design? Opinions?

We use EQL PS with Veeam and played around with the SAN backup on a windows box. In the end, we found it was simpler to just use the default veeam network backup which is fast enough for our environment (backing up to a linux VM with mounted NFS shares from our NAS boxes).

    Opinions on small SAN

Hi All I'm looking to move my local storage onto a SAN (for three hosts). Performance isn't that critical, I have around 4Tb of data on around 30 VMs (ESXi 5 / vSphere) that we mostly use for software development & testing. We want to use gigabit ethernet initially. We've been pointed...

    new building new phones?

Many thanks for all of your replies. I'm already a bit lost with the terminology (I'm a phone noob). VOIP isn't essential - I just want something fairly flexible - if that can be achieved with regular telephony then fine. What would I need to have the PBX connected to - a number of ISDN...

    new building new phones?

Hi All We're moving premises shortly and will be looking to replace our current phone setup. We have 9 analogue phone lines (BT featurelines - just been adding them piecemeal as I knew we'd be leaving) coming into the building for staff plus one for fax. A couple of the lines are running...

fast way to backup 200Gb (removal)

Perhaps a 256Gb SSD would make for a robust offsite solution. While we're in the subject has anybody thought of using those instead of tapes?
