Can I suggest you try All Channel Stereo, or Neo/Dolby Music Presets, and see if that works? Stereo is 2.0 only. Multichannel will be 2.0 only - MP3s are only stereo. Direct & Pure are both unprocessed multichannel I believe. The other thing you can do, is look at how you can get Winamp to use...

I've mostly got WoW in mind here, and eve, both benefit from SSD performance. I can't imagine that Call of Duty f/e would be much different than HDD though. Perhaps I'll just grab a 60GB one for dropping MMOs on, and give it a trial.

I think thats what we'll do. They were bought from a major UK etailer, and I think all 3 of the SSDs are going back... we cant rely on them, and whilst failures are expected and tolerated, when 3/3 devices show signs of failure its entirely unacceptable :(
