Not light painting as such, the organisers have LED floodlights set around the aircraft to light it, you still need a long exposure for the photographs to get the light light trails from the wings when they do the wing folds etc, these were 30 second exposures.

This is what I'm hoping for as well, A1 II with a global shutter, lower base ISO, high megapixel and improved autofocus.

Have you tried altering the browser settings, when you load iplayer there is a button in the bottom right which says PS3 tips or something similar and it guides you through how to set the browser to fill the screen etc.
