Mirroring software, files and user accounts between machines

@kidloco Definitely could be useful except this wouldn't work with software. Maybe I just have to install the software separately on each machine. @chriscubed. Thanks very much for the information. It sounds like more hassle than it's worth really. Thanks again.

Mirroring software, files and user accounts between machines

I'm pretty good at programming so no technophobe but network admin I've never studied. I'll have a look for a tutorial but maybe it's not going to be worth the bother. How much time do you think this would take to set up?

Mirroring software, files and user accounts between machines

Thanks for the reply. They're all on a LAN but that's all I can tell you as I haven't got a clu about networking. Let's say I want a user account with its software and files accessible from any of the machines.

iMac 2013 - Haswell Refresh Released

How would that GPU, and the standard one, fare with modern games? Is this a high end chip these days? It's been a long time since I played any game.

Mirroring software, files and user accounts between machines

Hi, How do I go about mirroring installed software between three pc's? I want to be able to install/uninstall/update software on one computer and have it appear on the others. Mirroring user files and accounts aren't really important, but of course wouldn't be a hindrance.

What are my chances of getting this iPhone 5 replaced?

Ok, but you can imagine a circumstance where it could happen; leaning against a table edge, for example.

What are my chances of getting this iPhone 5 replaced?

Playing devil's advocate, mightn't this be caused by having it in your pocket and sitting on it? I find it unlikely that heat would warp it otherwise the Internet would be rife with complaints.

imac or no imac that is the question

I have a 2007 iMac and while not wanting to tempt fate, it's been faultless apart from the optical drive failing within 6 months. It has been used weekdays, usually all day, for work since then. The build quality is solid, the thing is very heavy and looks exactly like it did the day I bought...

    Is mountain lion any good?

I'd stick with Snow Leopard on an older machine. Its performance is much better and there really isn't a great deal of difference except icloud integration.

No Optical Drives - it's wrong!

Optical drives haven't died but the majority of people just don't use them any more. Five years ago everyone used discs to rip and burn music, to make back ups, to share photos etc. Nowadays we have very advanced 'free' social networking, cheap pen drives and hdd's, cloud file sharing, cloud...

What is this on my ipad

Our old Vodafone router gave us the exact same message when it dropped connection to net and I tried to use the Internet. The page would refresh to this on reconnection to net.

    New ipad issues?

XP can't find your ipad and syncs are painfully slow? How does it sync at all if it can't find your ipad?

    Purchasing an older imac.

I say go for it, but the usual risks with buying second hand apply. iMacs are more like laptops than desktops in that they're not that user serviceable. Also, if it has a mighty mouse you're likely to need to replace it due to the scroll ball failing.

    Purchasing an older imac.

I've got a four year old imac 24" aluminium which has been used a lot for work; all day, five days a week. It hasn't missed a step except the optical drive stopped working after the first year. Make sure it has 4gb of ram though. One other thing, the case gets hot but don't worry about it...

*** The Official OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 Thread ***

Older mac performance After having reinstalled Snow Leopard after finding Lion to be horribly slow I installed Mountain Lion to try it out. On my core2duo 2.8ghz/4gb ram/Radeon HD 2600 imac it runs really, really well without the constant beach balling of Lion. Thought i'd post this to help...

Does the MBP 13" being complete toilet bother you?

The resolution is poor for the price and it it seems likely that it's not been increased due to Apple having a roadmap to pixel double in the near future. The use of the word 'toilet' seems intentionally inflammatory mind you.

Is AirPort or Time Capsule worth it?

Where do you live? That is a crazy amount of networks! I really know very little about networking but the sheer number could be the problem. You should ask this question in the networking forum.

    iMac dissatisfaction.

I agree that the tone of answers were uncalled for but you really are worrying over nothing. It's not the computer that's running at 85°c, it's the cpu. The maximum operating temperature of i5 chips is 100°C, according to a quick google, so it is operating within the specified tolerances as...
