One part of the PIP assessment which has been added again (as it was there in DLA) is the "An essential element of the PIP assessment is that it should take account of whether claimants can undertake each activity ‘safely, reliably, repeatedly and in a timely manner".
This means that you...
Paper and reality are very different. I've seen articles where people have died before even getting to their forced assessments and terminal patients being found fit for work then dying soon afterwards etc. Reality is that people do need to have an assessment but that you are judged the minute...
I did say afaik, also it's likely that the initial assessments will be similar to esa in that you do have to go regardless of what's wrong with you and what data you send.
Some good information here http://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/f60.htm. There will only be two rates for pip unlike DLA where there were three for the care component. This in itself will mean that some people will no longer be able to claim dla in it's new form.

So glad I saw your comments at the end! I was agasp! :p
I watched John Q last night and I loved it. Was an amazing performance from Denzel Washington and I really felt a huge amount of empathy for him and his situation. I'd definitely recommend it.
I love the view from mountains but my fear of heights restricts me quite a lot. Hoping to overcome this and actually get on a plane again at some point too!
