    Overnight Oatmeal

The main difference between all the types of 'rolled' oats is the thickness. The instant oats (rolled steel cuts) which you get around 0.4mm-0.6mm thick are the ones which take the shortest time to cook and in my experience go starchy. These are also the ones you'd get in ready-brek. Quick Oats...

    MS Surface Pro any good?

I bought the surface pro3 last year (i5/8gb/256Gb) version, simply because I am travelling around and wanted something much lighter than a laptop, but with the full windows experience. To be honest I've found it really really good, it performs everything I want to do - except maybe Battlefield...

4 week break: South Korea or Japan?

I've also recently been to South Korea and Japan. I personally found that Japan has more to do and see and will keep you occupied for longer. But South Korea is still definitely worth seeing. I'd echo what was said earlier, one week in SK and three weeks in Japan. If you want to go back in...

Advice on a working holiday, 6 months - year

That's what I found most difficult. I think when you've just finished university it's actually quite an easy decision to make because you don't have much to lose as such. Unless you have an amazing job offer. However if you've been working for a few years and started climbing the ladder you get...

Advice on a working holiday, 6 months - year

It certainly sounds like you did enjoy it. I'd actually quite look forward to living in the tropics, strange as it sounds. I assume you had to do the RSA and RSG to get the work around the casino? I've heard mixed responses about Perth. There are people who have found work there, but then...

Advice on a working holiday, 6 months - year

I also looked at Bunac for Oz, and went to one of their talks near Victoria. However my extensive researching on the internet revealed just how much extra they were charging for the same experience. I think it worked out to paying them £30 extra on the cost of an Oz visa as opposed to doing it...

Advice on a working holiday, 6 months - year

That's exactly what I'm doing and will be in Perth from the 19th June. Quite nerve racking really when you leave a job of 13 years... I intend to look for work as quick as I can just incase it takes a little while. Any top tips for looking around in Perth?

    US: Dual survival

Funny, I just picked up this too through the google play store offering an episode for free. Looks to be a survival viewing month as Bear also has his new desert island show out on the 5th?

    UK Border Agency fails again

Bit of non news. I was in Gatwick at the time yesterday afternoon and although ex-EU passengers were waiting for hours it was 40 minutes for EU passengers. They were handing out water and families with kids were being processed in a separate gate that they opened up for emergencies. So sure...

How should society deal with people who insist on testing Darwin's Law on survival of the fittest?

It actually takes some guts though to do what he did and own up and say what he's done wrong to show just how lucky he was, but just how easy it can be to get yourself in difficulty!

Do you flash other drivers over?

I have to admit that people are slightly unaware of how they should be driving. Prime examples include where the M25 has been widened to 4 lanes. Lanes 1-3 can be devoid of people yet they've decided that the outside lane is their only lane for the whole journey. Get's rather grating when I have...

    Supermarket zombies

Quoted for truth, and for the correct spelling of the word aisle ;) I'm not sure how big some of these people are to be blocking up the isles though.... ;)

    4 nights in berlin...

Fox speaks the truth, just take your debit card with you and use as normal (as long as it doesn't have extortionate exchange rate fees attached). When withdrawing cash at bank machines abroad it will tell you exactly how much you'll be charged in £'s. Just make sure that if paying by card abroad...

    Paleo Lifestyle...

I tried this today, albeit for lunch, and it was really really delicious. First time I've really gone and tried something from here. Might even become my daily breakfast for a while

    Thorium Power

I am quoting that for truth, I'm surprised I didn't see the comment further up the page really. Thorium will deliver nuclear power at a far safer level than Uranium - however the technology required to deliver a stable, steady supply of neutrons to sustain the reaction has not yet been...

    Sim City,Cities of Tomorrow expansion

I have this expansion and actually rather enjoy it. Adds a completely different dimension to the game. My only wish is for it to have a functioning underground rail system!!
