    endoscopy

I had an endoscopy and even with sedation (two lots) it was still utterly horrific. but a lot of it depends on your gag reflex, mine can get set off by brushing my teeth so I always knew it was going to be bad.

    Light circuit tripping breaker

one thing to watch out for, some people with a less than stellar knowledge of electrics wire other bits into light circuits. light circuits tend to be on 6 amp mcb, so if other devices are added to the circuit then it can cause tripping. otherwise youll have to do what you have been and just try...

What did you do to your bike today?

Its really simple to fit LED indicators, don't mess around with resistors and the like. buy an adjustable relay and put it in place of your current relay, you can adjust the speed to whatever you want that way. Direct replacement as well so its a simple job, something like this...

MX5 Owners in here....bring your curling tongs

The Mk1/Mk2 vinyl roof always tends to leak after a while, the vinyl shrinks around the foam seals and water can creep in and fill those seals up, which means a slow drip into the cabin. Mohair is best to go with by far as found on the mk2.5 onwards.

    Moving adventure bikes around..

Spinning on the side stand is the way to go. Feels a bit unnerving at first but its surprisingly easy once you get the hang

Those who garage your motorbike, do you use an indoor cover?

I never bother covering it up when not in use. I move it around occasionally and like to pretend I am riding it by twisting the throttle and making BWARRMM noises. A cover would hinder both of these vitally important activites.

    Boot/Footware question

I wear my Dewalt work steelies more than I wear my dedicated motorbike boots. I think the main thing is that they are stout and durable. Wouldn't be wearing trainers etc.

RCD tripping on Solar when the sun goes down/off?

the fact that it happens with cloud obscures the sun suggests that there may be a faulty MCB, if it is actually an RCD then its an earth fault so likely an inverter fault

Dehumidifier for garage? Will it work? Recommendations?

As above, ventilation doesn't really help when its cold and wet, as you are just bringing more cold wet air into the garage at near 100% RH to replace the wet cold air that was already in the garage. I have a humidistat activated inline fan that I leave activated in the warmer months. In the...

Anyone using Quad Lock or similar?

I have one and use on bicycle and motorbike. They take some getting used to in regards to clicking it in but they are solid and I trust it completely. Pricey yes but so is your phone.

OCUK Plumbing/Central Heating Gurus in here please...

at the risk of sounding patronising, have you tried turning all the other radiators off..? I had a very similar issue when I fitted a new radiator in the bathroom, bled system, water flow was fine through the new rad but it never got warm, tested the valves etc and all seemed good but still...

Work/life balance rethink. A shift in general attitude?

I think there are three different categories of working people 1) Those who are in jobs they either dislike or feel indifferent towards and don't have the drive to change career or unable to because of circumstance. 2) Those who are driven to achieve high status jobs, kudos and high wages. 3)...

How late would you mow your lawn?

I wouldnt bat an eyelid in summer at mowing the grass up until around 21:00. It's so hot during the day that during evening is the best time to do physical activities for some people. I mean its better than loud music or domestics....

Is there any way to "blank out" a lock?

A burglar will almost never try and pick or force or a lock unless there is no easy way in. French doors are an easy way in and a glass breaker would see them out in a second and very few people will actually react/report broken glass. If it makes you/your wife feel safer then it cant be a bad...

    Dropped Kerb -Drainage query

It is fairly common knowledge (I thought but could be just the kind of not very helpful knowledge I retain) that you have no legal right to cross a kerb/footpath to access your property with a vehicle unless there is a dropped kerb. without a dropped kerb in that situation it is not a "lawful"...
