License question - CBT? [One year update]

I did similar last year, I passed my CBT in early November. It's a good time of year to buy a 125. If you can hang on until spring to sell it you should be able to make a profit on it. Have fun!

Seriously RIP? I noticed he'd disappeared from the internet a while ago but that would be pretty tragic. Used chat with him on MSN yeeears ago.

Did something stupid, was there a simple way to fix it?

I'm not quite sure what you did but if it was just a case of deleting an SPN you should be able to do that from any client in the domain. Whether the clobbered server would let you do that is another matter.

    Windows 8 The Verdicts ?

My opinion of Windows 8 has just gone up again, I found the open command prompt as administrator button in File Explorer. The new search in explorer is better too, it's good to see MS putting time into a core part of Windows.

    Windows 8 Start Screen Weirdness

Sorry for the vague title but I don't know how else to describe this. Generally I'm loving Windows 8, but there is one thing that is annoying me. Say I'm happily working away in remote desktop. Then I need to connect to another machine so I press the windows key and type remote. Search...

Microsoft Campus in Reading, anyone been?

I've been up a few times for Dynamics NAV events, once on a day long training session and also product launches. For training I would go for full on casual. Certainly take a laptop and pen and paper sounds like a good idea. What course are you doing up there?

want to build a concrete garage - advice!

Sounds like a fun job http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=134218 ! I've never done it but it comes up on retro rides quite often. They are very heavy (~3 tons) and may take a few trips in a van.

Subaru-powered Toyota FT-86 gets closer to production...

The dealers in Hedge End were great for my test drive. They saw I was local so said to just go where I wanted. He even suggested doing a couple of laps of a roundabout on the way and I was welcome to turn the traction control off if I wanted. With £1000 excess in a car I had never driven...

Subaru-powered Toyota FT-86 gets closer to production...

Drove one today as well. The engine was really nice, it felt like a very flat torque curve. It's willing to rev but not lacking in power low down. Excellent driving position too. I've no intention of buying one right now but in a few years I may get a used one.

Le Tour de France - starts 30 June 2012

I'm watching "The race that changed the world" on BBC 4 at the moment about Ben Johnson doping in the Olympics. They were just saying about people taking diuretics and it being like they were just testing water.

I'm no expert so I could be wrong but I've let hubs get in the same state and they just ate bearings. Can't hurt to try now you have the bearings though. Pro2s are very good hubs and 717s are good rims too. I bought some wheels recently but I'm a cheapskate so I bought them from Superstar...

    New family bus...

I can't stand Landies either :D. Is the rear door cracking on yours? I was welding one up for a friend, it seems like they just can't take the weight of having a wheel hanging off them. I think he keeps the spare on the roof now. For all their incompetence on the road, it is nice being able...

That looks pretty ruined tbh, you can put new bearings in but running on a rough surface will destroy them in no time. I'd take the opportunity to buy a nice new wheel with a cartridge bearing hub. At least it's only the front so nice an cheap. Might be a good reminder to service the rear...

    My Retro Resto - E30 325i Cab

I saw the comments on this before the images loaded and thought the interior would be much worse, it's not even started to rot! I imagine this will be a stisfying project if you keep looking back of those pictures of how it started.

I got a gear cable free with MBUK years ago, it went rusty which wasn't great for shifting. So I wouldn't go too cheap.
