I remember having 512k cable via Telewest (became Blueyonder, became Virgin Media) in 2001. I've had cable at various houses over the 20 odd years since and one thing is the same, peak time congestion massively impacting the performance.

Just to give balance as the parent of two disabled children - and someone waiting for ACL reconstruction surgery - I've found the NHS to be excellent. They're horrifically overstretched and need better funding. No doubt they could be more efficient, but so can any colossally sized organisation.
