    Help

We all make mistakes...I obviously didn't read you are on Linux for example! I would just back it up...you will be able to access all your files on your Linux drive by booting to a Linux DVD (or USB) and access your drive that way. It's a bit slow, but at least you get all your old files...

    Help

I can't believe you have been here since 2003 and don't know that all that new hardware will normally require a fresh install of Windows. They are ways of not doing a fresh install and maybe getting it to work, but it's normally more trouble than it's worth.

    *** Nexus 10 Tablet ***

I have a Nexus 7 that I can hook up to a wireless keyboard and mouse using a OTG USB Cable. ( I can't guarantee it will work on with any wireless keyboard, but it does with the cheap mini wireless one I have that was made by Cerulian. The 7 and the 10 should work with the same devices.

Digimate (OcUK) 24" repair with pics

Very informative post kingy666. I own of the DGM's that was all the rage on here....and such a great monitor for the price. Mine has just died...the blue light (got that's bright with tape removed) is flashing and it's making a popping noise... I'm guessing it's the power supply but don't...

Is this normal for a psu tester

The -5V light is OK as they dropped the -5V rail from PSU's. The PG light stands for "Power Good" but I can't tell you any more than that. I always use a DMM.

My bosses PC randomly switching off

I had one that did this. I checked all the usual suspects like heat etc but that was OK. It then becomes a nightmare, and I was thinking motherboard (MSI Neo 2 soclet 939). To cut a long story short I picked up mobo / chip / cooler / ram in the for sale forum here for £100 and fitted that...

Hello all, what is your most expensive pc device?

A moment of total madness a few years ago.....AMD FX-53 at over £600. To this day I dunno what I was thinking when I hit "buy".

    is it worth Buying, Waiting,

I'd also say wait. The pound is very weak at the moment, and we seem to be paying a lot. I suppose the pound may get even weaker and things will go up more, but I doubt it. There used to be horror when motherboards hit £200 tho that seems to be the norm for Socket 1366 ones (excluding one or...

OCZ Technology Introduces New Line of Fatal1ty Power Supplies

Looks like someones copying Creative and sticking “Fatal1ty” on it may appeal to the younger audience that haven't seen through the hype yet. Having said that it may well be a good product but the fact that some of the money you pay for it goes to him leaves a taste.

    Laptop for my sister

Most of the small ones use the same chip. I have the Advent 4211 (clone of MSI Wind) and it's fine. You'd have to do some research on this, but the MSI wind may have larger battery hence larger price but is she going to use this as a laptop as such (on batteries much) You'd be looking...

How long do dell normally take?

Well I got through on the phone and after much bouncing about I got them to phone me back. Got decent Irish guy on phone and it seems some outlet orders are just not going through their system :( I got it sorted at least, and he reckoned it should be here next Wednesday which is OK :) I've...
