I'd stay in the city, all the local hotels will be overpriced and probably unavailable due to being full with teams etc. Plus the area around the circuit isn't very exciting (it's basically on an industrial estate). There's a train station in walking distance from the track for direct trains...

The game itself runs much better, but they've taken all the tactics out of it and made it more linear than it was. Like you can't really go out in small teams and cap stuff now, it's all big groups moving from one point to the next until they meet a bigger group of opposition players. Still...

It's all about supporting higher charge currents at all levels. The cells, BMS, cabling, the charger, the power supply. It's more complicated than you think. It's dangerous too. High DC voltage and current will kill instantly. What Nissan is saying is indicitave of the testing that we have...

Quite. Supplying the power for faster charging is definitely an issue for EVs. That's the best that the FitEV can do though as it doesn't support fast DC charging, which begs the question as to why Honda picked those cells.

No idea! Good to see the car makers are working hard on reducing charging times though. They have to focus more on ranges though, this cancels out longer charge times IMO. The FitEv would only just get you from London to Birmingham on one charge. Maybe their research shows charge time to be...

So Honda says it takes 3 hours to charge the FitEV. I wonder if the life cycles are drastically reduced charging at 4C.

18 minutes to 95% is good, but not a huge amount better than the cells we are using. There's a number of negatives to them though. At 20Ah and 2.7v they'll only be of use for small low powered full EVs with a pretty limited range. They're packing quite a bit of girth for the rated capacity too...

Link? Super fast charging isn't really a stumbling block for racing purposes, but a big one for road cars for sure. It's watts/kg and smaller cells that we want! :D

To rapidly charge a cell pack in a couple of minutes you'd need to charge at 30x cell capacity. Who makes a cell like this? I'd like to know about it.
