Very similar to me though I'm semi detached and cable is a mix of cat5a installed about 15 years ago and Cat6a installed last year. Will stick to the one U6 AP to start. Just trying to decide between the USW-Ultra with a poe injector to power it and the Lite 8 poe switch....

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

Yeh I am tempted to just try one to start especially given the price. Currently I have a Vodafone router for my cityfibre FTTP in the middle of the top floor and an ageing TP-Link router being used as a switch and AP in the middle of the ground floor. Neither has enough signal to cover the whole...

Managed to bag one of the new cloud gateway ultras as a first dive into Unifi. Looking at a pair of U6 Mesh for APs (house is across three floors, so I assume 2 would be needed to guaranee good coverage,) but what switch would anyone recommend to go with these? Needs to be 8 port, every room...

Best network at the moment to use.

Yeh I was going for monthly payments on the phone just to reduce my monthly bills, currently paying 44 a month for a galaxy s21 on EE but it only gives 4gig data and their best renewal even going through retentions for an s24 was 55 a month. Can get the s24+ with the 60 gig on Voxi for 32 a...

Best network at the moment to use.

Sorry what? What has my join date on OcUK got to do with me ordering a phone from Voxi and having to set up a PayPal account? Not that it's any of your business but I've never had a PayPal account because I've never needed one before. On the very rare occasion I've needed to buy something from...

Best network at the moment to use.

I tried signing up for this tonight. What. A. Nightmare. I'd added this plan and a Galaxy s24+ to the basket. At checkout, created an account, entered my details to pay for the sim plan, had to create a PayPal account to be able to pay for the phone. Of course, paypal wouldn't work because...

S21 - on event, change app notification settings?

Maybe Tasker and Autonotification to do this? Use a Tasker task to set the phone to vibrate/silent when connected to a specific wifi, and Autonotification to intercept the notification which would then trigger another Tasker task to allow the notification sound to play temporarily. Might need to...

After I cancelled, they called to ask why. I was very clear it was due to a combination of price and poor customer service when trying to get a better deal. The guy asked, if they had offered 500meg for £29 a month would I have stayed. I said probably since that's the same as the deal I'd taken...

    Vodafone home broadband

The DHCP on the VF router (x.x.x.1) is set from x.x.x.2 to x.x.x.25 to cover phones and such, while I have the TPL static at x.x.x.100, and the other switches as x.x.x.102 and 103. I can log into the UI of the switches on 102 and 103, just not the TPL on 100.

    Vodafone home broadband

All the lan config on the Vodafone hub was set up to match what was on my prior VM hub so I didn't have to bother reassigning addresses or WiFi settings etc, so all that's actually changed is the ISP router that sits between the Internet and my own router. Could log in fine before, swap ISP hub...

    Vodafone home broadband

Is it just me or is the Vodafone supplied router a bit rubbish? The UI is sooo slow and often unresponsive, even though the connection (Cityfibre fttp) itself is running full speed. Anyone else had issues with it? It also seems to block me logging on to my own TPLink router that I use just for...

Who did you get that from? I thought my £29 for 500/500 was good, but £16.50?? Wow. For me, it's not just the lower ping but the much-improved jitter as well, VM would spike a lot, especially when remoted into my work virtual machine and using Zoom on that. Not had an issue (yet at least) on...

Yeh, for the first year after rollout, Vodafone was the only provider available on Cityfibre on my street, but there are 12 to choose from now. Vodafone are the cheapest, which is why I chose them. Only reason I didn't move sooner is cause I was still in contract with VM

All installed and up and running. Getting 545 down and 526 up connecting from my phone (Galaxy S21.) Haven't tried wired or my own kit hooked up yet. The Vodafone app on my phone also let me log in at last, shows all the correct details. The install was as easy as I think it could have been...

Today had multiple confirmations from both Voda and CF that everything is ready to go. New router arrived yesterday, set it all up, configured so all the devices on my lan should just swap over nicely (the only reason I don't have the VM hub in modem mode is cause my own TPLink router seems to...

Got an email from VM today saying "thanks for making those changes" - basically the landline part of my package has been taken off, which I guess means Vodafone are transferring it as I asked (not that I ever use it anyway but as it doesn't cost with Voda, thought I might as well keep the same...

Yeh, I'd never do that personally, but he's more bothered about the hassle of having to sort it out than not having Internet for a bit if it doesn't go smoothly. He already went back to just Freeview for TV, already moved his mobiles to Vodafone recently, and only really needs Internet now for...

Ordered the 500meg package for £29 last night. Got various emails and texts from both Vodafone and Cityfibre within minutes confirming the package, install date (28th) and time (Vodafone say 8am to 1pm, Cityfibre say 7am to midday, whatever) but so far haven't been able to log in to my new (auto...
