    Kaspersky Internet Security???

I've just dropped in a new drive with XP Pro to replace a faulting HD which had F-Secure on it. I've had nothing but problems with F-Secure, it hogged resources for no apparent reason, yearly renewals meant getting a disk with the latest version on it and then playing Russian roulette as to...

    Can I share a drive between 2 OS's?

Seeing as my current XP setup's drive is coughing up a nice death rattle, I've secured a new hard drive and a new copy of XP SP3 (legit of course). All my work is backed up from my main C/D HD onto another HD called J under my current Windows installation. If I install XP on my new drive...

Please help, XP Pro giving me indigestion

Oh no doubt about it the drive is dying a death, keeps trying to check the health of the ntfs and failing! If I get my new drive, stick XP on it then pull the old drive just to get files off, I can still stick it back to the boot drive in safe mode in case I've missed something that I can't...

Please help, XP Pro giving me indigestion

Thanks for the reply Cobertizo, it locked up again so maybe you're right it could be a RAM issue. Am I best running memtest from a floppy? Would pulling the CMOS battery for a minute do anything you think?

Please help, XP Pro giving me indigestion

Hi Everyone A browse with Firefox this morning resulted in a full system lockup. A hit of the reset button and all I got was the Windows Blue Bar Scroller with no advancement. Started fine in Safe Mode, bad blocks being clocked on what I thought was the D partition of my drive. Ran chkdsk...

    Australia shaped pizza - how?

And reveal my genius! :D It was just masking a copy of the pizza with the map shape, used a black and white version of the shape to see the contrast between it and original and used the clone tool to extend any peppers or olives that got cut off by cropping to the map shape, then grabbed the...

PHP & MySQL :: Need tutorial!

Basics, few security bits in there but you can also check for mime type. // Original filename $original_filename = $_FILES['image_file']['name']; // Get the original extension $extension = strtolower(substr(strrchr($original_filename,"."),1)); // Create a new name for the image file...

    The next step

You'll need some form of NDA in place. Finding a coder to do it might be expensive, the bandwidth costs possibly massive if it ends up being a popular video delivery site. I'd find an investor that's willing to fund it, that's what youtube did.

getting a website into a search engine

Sorry you're right, what I meant was don't spend a lot of time on them as there are other on page techniques that will do more. It's bottom of the tree due to the abuse they've suffered over the years, but like Tesco, every little helps...

can we stop coding for IE6 yet?

Get Safari on your PC. We've got Macs and PCs at work and pretty much every issue that appears on Safari on the Mac is replicated by Safari on the PC. Can't speak for Opera, the guys don't use it on the Mac, I probably should get them to install it on at least one for testing.

can we stop coding for IE6 yet?

Some of our clients are hardware and software solutions companies, and they have a mix of IE6 and IE7 on work machines and in the hubs they use for training. I have to fire up an rickety old ME machine to test their pages on IE6, but it's definitely worth it, and to be honest, it's not that...

New site: CSFRS USAR website : How is it looking?

It looks a bit dated I wouldn't mix sans-serif with serif either Why use images for your headers (“Welcome to the CSFRS U.S.A.R. Team Website")? Browsers like Safari and IE7 smooth text out now anyway, and not that you’re probably too concerned about SEO, it would be better as a h1 tag...
