Which animal do you think has the worst breath?

Humans? animals you can avoid. Humans some times is unavoidable. Stuck in a small lift or enclose space with someone talking and with obvious and strong breathe issue and you have to endure without choice is pretty horrendous

Disabled couple snooped on and accused of fraud by the DWP

It’s been the same governmental policy to go after fraud always. Pretty sure New Labour had ad campaign to snitch on your neighbour or that bloke pretend to be limp goes to job centre gets his payment then goes to a construction site and get his paid work done etc. Every party and gov does it...

Disabled couple snooped on and accused of fraud by the DWP

It’s sickening but it has nothing to do with the party in power at the time does it. It’s the department and how poor it is. The burden of proof should be with the government as it is the accuser not the benefit reciever. I am in similar dispute with TFL who accused me to entering a yellow...

Jury Service (Do NOT turn this into a 'how to get out of jury service' thread)

I am due for my service, what do people do when they are waiting to be called?

When are you going fully electric?

EVs in China are dirt cheap. Shame we can’t get them at the same prices here in Europe. Imagine if there is nominal tariff on EVs coming in from China. We would be seeing BYD/XPeng etc on the roads everywhere obviously German/french/Italian car makers will go out of business unless they got in...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Hilariously funny post  16 Nov 2023 — standing charge to unit rate would, considering the market as a whole, increase the revenues suppliers can make under the price cap. (ofgem website quote) Increased revenue with increased profit margin means more profit and more money into the pockets...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Doesn’t our unit price already have 25% network cost built in? It’s interesting you think that 7.3bil a year is going into grid not the pockets of CEO and shareholders of energy companies. Martin Lewis has been saying for years that standing charge should be abolished and people needs to pay...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Tell me what is there to do to have a meter sitting there in a property? Operational cost is in the margins For £7.3bil a year that’s 243,000 employees at a wage of £30k/year. Clearly the combined industry employees by the operators in UK industry is not even close to that 243,000 people. So...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Standing charge is an absolute scandal. It just shows how out of touch ofgem is and whose interest ofgem looks after. I am on tracker combined standing charge is 70p now. It’s insane. There are 28.mil house holds in the UK so on lower bound estimate, energy companies are making 20mil a day...

When are you going fully electric?

the whole charging debate or issues won’t go away until EV is ubiquitous. The EV market and the charging networks are still emerging from their infancy really the way I see it. Even with Tesla network, they aren’t in any places I want to go for staycation so I will have to rely on destination...

When are you going fully electric?

I have used extension lead with granny before. Just need to reduce the charging current to limit power at 2kw max. Otherwise it will trip the circuit breaker on the extension (assuming it is external graded extension with over current protection)

    Massive Car insurance costs?

Tbh, I was using bymiles for a number of years and they were cheapest by a large margin. Nothing on comparison website can come close. During the first year of lockdown the whole year insurance was just over £200. Then randomly in 2023 the renewal cost was trebled and the cost per mile was...

When are you going fully electric?

So with e-Niro and others with frontal charging ports, if you shunt the car at the front end, you will loose the ability to charge the car and possibly write the car off? Is that an insurance group thing?

When are you going fully electric?

You can’t have Tesla shipping record EVs and BYD shipping record EVs year on year with decreased demands.
