Just had a look at the Gigabyte site. My ssd does not seem to be supported( crucial mx100 512gb) so maybe this is the problem. I'll see what gigabyte has to say.

I really didn't think about cpu bottlenecks until yesterday, I was running some bench marks with hitman (not the best optimised game I know) but changing graphics settings didn't have a massive effect on frame rate, which made me think "CPU"
