Hi everyone
After realising my existing monitor is making me feel awful (eye strain, headache, fatigue), I've been on the lookout for a decent screen that's easy on the eye, especially after this one is making me ill.
I was looking at the 31.5" BenQ with eye relief and was almost settled on it...
I do welcome debate, but let's make it equivalent.
I have an active account with both my gas and electricity supplier and they only want to go into the hallway and check numbers on a meter. If I didn't have gas or electricity, I wouldn't have them coming knocking...well, maybe if they found...
I'm quite surprised the amount of people on here who will allow an unannounced stranger into their private property to look at their TV equipment.
This point I'm sure will have been made already, but the 'officers' are just normal employed people with a clipboard.
Why would anyone just let...
Ha ha, cheers, I'm sure it'll be great, arriving tomorrow, will get it installed over the next day or so! Cheers for the tip, I may have to look into readjusting fan profiles now this monster is coming!
Thanks for the concern doyll, I've had it for over a year now. I haven't noticed any...
Thanks guys, I appreciate your input.
You're spot on there Mcnumpty2323, it is cost vs time, and the cost for the pro version with lifetime updates and working on 5 PCs is just over £21 with a discount code...that's definitely money well spent in my book.
Thanks for the confirmation Steampunk...
Yeah, I did have a look through that before posting.
The ones I looked at seemed to be a bit out of date or very specialist without the full functionality that Sentinel seems to have. One even had malware in it according to Virus Total (wish I could remember which it was, I'd report it).
Cheers Mcnumpty2323, I've had a look at the two Crystaldisk software versions. They are useful for what they are, but not what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the recommendation Steampunk. I've just downloaded the trial, wow, it looks amazing! Pro license allows use on 3 machines, lifetime updates...
Hi guys
I've got a lot of HDD/SSD drives that I would like to keep an eye on, both that are occasionally connected to the computer, and those that are permanently connected. They are all local to my machine, no big network management or anything, just a home computer.
I've been using HD Tune...
Thanks again everyone for all the posts and information. That's been a really interesting read EsaT!
Joxeon, cheers for the different recommendations, I think I'm going to move away from AIOs this time, especially with the suggestions from others and improved performance with air coolers these...
I think I'm leaning more towards the Noctua NH-D15 than anything else, no messing about buying extra fans etc., it's all in one package, that'll do the job. Even if it is a bit louder, it'll be quieter than the stock cooler so it'll be a win either way.
Am I right in thinking that the only...
Thanks again for the replies guys, I think we're getting there.
So the AIOs are out, very good point about the guarantees on them.
I don't remove the RAM unless there was a fault. There's 64GB in there, filling all the channels so it's not going anywhere.
This may be a stupid question...would...
Thanks for the replies guys, it's interesting that there doesn't seem to be concensus on there being a single absolute best. I guess technologyt and specialist companies have really come on in the last few years.
As Relentless81 has pointed out, it is heavy duty cooling I'm after, looks like...
Hi guys
I've been really happy with this AMD chip for a long time and with just the stock cooler (saved a lot of pennies in the initial build), but I'm looking to do some HD 1080p encoding for the first time on this chip and I've noticed that is getting really hot 80oC+ so I'm thinking of an...
Thank you, that's some brilliantly helpful information! Performance between Samsung/non-Samsung based RAM was discussed in the call but they said for real world performance I wouldn't notice any real difference.
The RAM potentially running slower, especially if all slots are used wasn't...
Hang on, let me get this straight in my non-technical mind...
I've bought 3000mhz RAM.
It may run at 2400mhz speed because:
1. It's not entirely compatible with the board?
or
2. All four RAM slots are filled?
How would i be able to tell and how would that affect performance?
Obviously I'll...
On an unrelated note...I like your sig cheesyboy. :D
On a related note, your argument is a disaster Minusorange.
I agree with you that the channel should have been deleted, there's no way the little [censored] should get one more view. But then you go completely off the rails linking it to...
You won't like it...
I had found that issue myself with stock levels and pricing, so rang OCUK and spoke with a really helpful guy. We discussed what I'd be doing with the computer and importantly what I wouldn't be doing (hard overclocking) and he thought I'd be OK with the Corsair, so I've...
Zotac have a UK RMA so I'm good there Quartz, cheers.
You may have a point there Calo, on the other hand would a 3 fan system be cooler and keep the components going for longer? Who knows!
Still, I've ordered now so fingers crossed for when it gets here. Thanks everyone for the help! :D
Ha ha, too late, order placed for delivery tomorrow! :D
Hopefully I won't have to use it, it's only for if I mess something up and have to reseat it (happened in the past).
Thanks again for the help! I can't say I'm thrilled at having to spend so much cash on a...
