I hope this new generation fares better than the 7200.11

    Iiyama E2201W

Hmmmm, when I contacted Iiyama they claimed 1:1 pixel mapping (as we know it) was not supported. Several of you would appear to have this monitor now (in either B1 or B2 form) so can one of you please confirm.

When will 1tb hdd's get the price drop?

Don't quote me on this but I read somewhere a while back that Samsung were working on releasing a 1.5TB drive (3 platters x 500gb?) sometime later this year under the F2 Series nomenclature.

    Iiyama E2201W

Pottsey, thank you for sharing your experience. Regarding your question, input lag is a very subjective thing, however, I very much doubt you would notice 30 ms lag when watching video (at least in terms of audio-video synchronicity). The generally accepted view - and I'm by no means...

    BenQ V2400W 24"

To quote another user on some other site...."It may look good but as an obsessive compulsive, I don't think I could live with the off-centre stand and button panel". I'm inclined to agree.

New monitors & Samsung SyncMaster XL20 offer?

Hey...we're not all colour purists or professional photographers. :) Moreover, it's difficult to get excited about something when you know you can't afford it (or at the very least, justify the investment).

    22" monitor decisions? Sorry...!

Both of the Iiyama recommendations from UTManiac would get my vote (although, admittedly, I am slightly biased towards those two models). Regarding the LG model that you quoted, there's a mini-review available on the net, albeit in Chinese, but you can access a translated version here...

Iiyama E2403WS 24" and Digital Input

Thanks for the tip mate (and also for sharing your experience). I'm told that the OSD on this monitor features a sort of pseudo 1:1 pixel mapping (see link below for less ambiguous explanation) option. Can you confirm this? http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/featurescontent.htm#1:1

    Long term gaming monitor needed!

UTManiac, thank you for confirming my worst fear. I'll be sure to get the PLE2201W-B1 variant now. :)

    Shouldn't a 3870 slow down when idle?

Yep, except mines the 3850 OC edition and the fan on it does ramp up to 100 (albeit occasionally).

    Shouldn't a 3870 slow down when idle?

My GeCube branded (factory overclocked) card does this too (i.e. has no powerplay feature). It's a shame really because that was one of the reasons why I purchased it.

Cheers. The sad thing is, I'm still no closer to buying my new monitor. :( Oh well, the search goes on...

    Iiyama E2201W

Ok, I've paraphrased his reply below (with the name ommitted for obvious reasons). My comments are shown below in red. Firstly 1:1 pixel mapping makes the use of Native Resolutions on LCDs sound more complicated that it actually is. All LCDs have a fixed resolution or number of pixels. On...

    Iiyama E2201W

Ok, I just had a rather lengthy discussion with a nice very man from Iiyama (whose name I've forgotten). He assured me that the E2201W-2 does have zero input lag (much like it's predecessor the E2201W-1). Furthermore, there is a review (by a group somehow affiliated with the online gaming...

Which 22" LCD? Samsung? Dell? ... HELP!

I thought the only way you could guarantee yourself the good Samsung panel and thus avoid the lottery was to purchase the Iiyama 22" E2201W. Someone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

    Which one to choose

Slothmeister, I suggest you look at this excellent guide (courtesy of Baddass): http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/featurescontent.htm#1:1 You may find that you don't need this feature or perhaps even a HDMI interface.

    Which one to choose

The Dell E248WFP does pixel mapping too. My only gripe with the Benq is the build quality but that's because I read a few consumer reviews where they had issues and (ironically) ended up swapping them for the Samsung or Dell. Having said that though, the Benq is the cheapest (by far) and the...
