Thanks for the link Stephen... that makes it clearer.
So Looks like I could use the Display ports from cards 1 and 2 and then run from the DVD-D on the first card for the 3rd screen.
I guess I would need a DVI-D to Display Port adapter to run the 3rd screen at 1400p therefore giving me...
I'm looking to go triple screen and not quite sure how to go about it.
I'm running a pair of MSI 780 Lightnings in SLI and have a single Asus PB278Q 27" 1440p monitor.
I also already have 3 Asus VN247H 24" 1080p monitors that I use for work.
I know I can connect up the 1080p monitors...
If you push the clocks too far the card will either lock up or the driver will reset. You don't have to restart the computer, but it is preferable. You are very unlikely to cause damage to the card even if you see artefacts, but it is better to stop the benchmark as soon as they are seen in my...
I would clock on the stock bios to start with. Take is slowly and enjoy it.
Once you reach the limits with the standard bios, give the LN2 bios a go and see if it helps.
Then if you are finding it ok, you can consider more extreme clocking.
As I say just take it slow and see how you get on.
This is wrong! LN2 mode just opens up more scope for the card. The default LN2 bios does not increase voltages or default clocks by much.
LN2 mode is quite safe to use.
You need some other tools and a better third party bios if you want to overclock to the max. You should be able to...
The shop will have an allocation system, just because its been allocated and therefore taken off the amount of stock does not mean it's been used. So if it comes back into stock its still a brand new un opened item.
Also if someone places an order on line the stock level reduces once payment...
I have done 4 CPU's now and I always heat up the CPU and then use a razor as I feel I have more control over what's happening. I normally stick the CPU in the oven at 80c and then start from there... a hairdryer to warm would be just as good though.
I'm another that would recommend liquid metal for this.
I hate the stuff but the one place it's really good is between a de-lidded IHS and the silicon.
The thing with an ES chip is that you don't know where in the development process the chip was made. Most Intel processors have several iterations of ES which are used to test and develop from. Most ES chips are produced just before launch and are used by review sites and big system...
With overclocking its very much a lottery.
Both SB-e and IVY-e have much the same ability to overclock.
I would suggest that if you have a 3820 and can overclock it well then I would not change unless you need / want the extra cores. If you do want Hex core then either buy a proven 3930K...
my iPhone 4S had a totally flat battery this morning. It had a full charge are 7PM and by 8AM was so flat it needed 20 minutes of charging before it switched on. Looks like it downloaded 7.02 all by itself overnight as it then invited me to install it. Glad it was via wifi and not 3g.

What components are you using?
Is it an Ivy-E 2011 CPU?
If it is your motherboard will need flashing to the latest bios before it will recognise the Ivy-E chip.
