    EVGA X58 SLI Classified!

Looks like OCUK dropped the price a bit (they're still off from the lowest I've seen) as there's certainly some competition from other UK retailers. It's always worth using your search engines before laying down the moola.

    DFI LT X48-T2R Review

Dfi have a new beta that should be ready next week.. There are a few extra chipset reference voltage levels that Oskar has unlocked and thrown out there. There are some marginal benefits to tuning adjusting these (but it varies from board to board). I had a word with DFI about their VTT/GTL...

    DFI LT X48-T2R Review

in a few days hopefully. We are working on a new way to present our stuff which should be very useful to users who are just starting out (can't say too much atm). Slot wise there is not much variance between green and yellow tbh - as long as the clock skews sense the required delays properly...

    DFI LT X48-T2R Review

I should have a full BIOS guide up soon over at Anandtech if anyone is interested. Just finalizing a few new things we are trying out now. The GTL scales can be a little off in places, so I will probe out some key points and make a few tables if needed. Dual 45nm's do not need much VTT at all...

    *****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

At the time of writing and using the processors I had at hand, the 0505 was the best solution (we tested non 45nm) not to mention that 45nm is not fully available yet. I am currently testing the 0702, which may be included in a follow up if deemed necessary. Later BIOS releases can always change...

    DFI LANParty UT X38-T2R

Expect an initial FSB drop in the larger cache's at first (at least). Initial testing results are putting the Penryn at lower FSB than our Q6600. The only real upgrade from good current G0 steppings may have to be a high multiplier Penryn. That means high cost. Initial Anandtech report is up...

    *****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

The 550 results were using a hand picked E6850 processor (dual core). Quad core maximum FSB comes in around 450-480, depending on many factors. I would say max benching with retail Penryn quad cores, do not expect much more than 4.4 tops for Super Pi 1M. Outright Prime type stability...

What exactly is the FSB voltage on gigabyte boards?

FSB voltage is VTT (I/O bus voltage to/from the MCH), the connecting signal voltage between CPU/MEMORY/PCIE/SB/NB regards Raja

    *****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

auto settings for overclocking quads seem to fare better than trying to set them manually. Just found the correct Vdimm point, seems the PC probe is not far out after all.. So far it needs more maturity to match the DFI p35 board, but I think it can come with time. We have noticed the same...

    *****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

The GTL settings are too limited atm for finer tuning at higher fsb's on the current bios releases, I don't know yet if this is set to change or if Asus will further the Auto manipulation. We are working on an article for Anandtech and perhaps a bios guide on how to overclock the board. It...

    Who is the best overclocker?

Thanks for giving me a mention Azza and Easyrider. There are many here who can overclock well, in fact, the above 2 would probably fit the bill, as they both frequent the forums more than most others mentioned (including myself). If you need something tested 'Intel Guy', I could try to help you...

    X38 Motherboard pre-order

The Gigabyte is quite solid out of te box from what I hear, which makes a change to previous beta releases...lol

    X38 Motherboard pre-order

X38 is geared to offer higher potential for performance clocking over the P35 (how much is the question), not everything is about raw fsb and it's associated performance loss. X38 is in testing now, from what I hear the latest silicon spin is better than the P35 for clocking memory, what we need...

    x48/x38

They will just be binned a little higher, overall gains over non binned remain to be seen. Expect slightly increased memory speeds and fsb capabilities, expect a hefty price premium too. Asus were binning the 680i's for the Striker Extreme, with those not making the grade becoming the SLI Plus...
