Rip out my guts and replace them with a younger, faster model

If you're not gaming a 2GB/ £50 GPU will be fine, just a normal family PC.

Home media server - advice needed.

Similar situation here, HTPC and NAS and out of space also. Or add a multiple bay NAS. One option like me is to replace the HD inside your NAS. Another is just to add more HD to your HTPC. One quiet 3.5" isn't going to make your HTPC noisey (have two Samsung 3.5" in mine) As for server you...

Best 1t harddrive on the market?

Looking into two of these. Performance isn't priority - for a NAS. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-158-WD&tool=3 Better option than the Samsung F1 I guess?

Something I've noticed about cambridge amps

Exactly. And exactly why I bought the Arcam Alpha 9. Bargain @£100 with a headphone amp to boot. Plus input switching and powering my speakers.

I suppose they'll do if you can't afford anything better, though being lifestyle you know compromises have been made. If you've got any interest in sound quality move to the Q range

The first reviews of Intel's new SSDs are in

Those elseware shouldn't effect it too much, don't think using SSD for temp/working is such a good idea due to the number of writes. Things like net folder can be on a HD.

Trucks have higher ground clearence so better for really rough terrain. However buggies handle better. For high end look at FG.

    Transformers On Blu Ray........Eventually!

And being a PS3 fanboy is also childish. All Sony had to do was include a IR receiver in the PS3. I couldn't care less if no remote is included, but IR control function will come in handy, without working out the limitations. Also 7.1 RCA output, which I'll be needing. Looks like I'll have to...

    RC cars

Nitro uses special fuel, can't remember the mixture what's inside the stuff. Petrol is like a chainsaw engine, in a RC car. Those are usually larger scale. 1:4-:1:6. Looking at around £300-£600 for the RC car, plus another few hundred for radio. I prefer petrol, had nitro in the past.

Be great if OS have a option for SSD install that way you select another drive that's used for the constant writing (temp, my docs, net working, pagefile)

If a power surge knackers your UPS battery then the UPS isn't dong it's job, the voltage adjustment AVR thing should correct that.
