popularised by hyper-libertarian dreams more like, plus greed. Although on the opposite side you've got at least one person in the "Why are a lot of GPU's out of stock" thread conflating 'printing/putting money in the system" with greed.
I imagine Sandy/Ivy's (lesser extent Haswell, etc) longevity put many an account into a deep slumber until Ryzen. Not forgetting newer social media... current crisis/disaster aside.
Ancient accounts also needed to activate their trust, too.
No, I'll buy it later in the year. I'd prefer to get the complete SB rather than one arbitrarily missing features though.
I'm not one to pay 1st week prices otherwise I'd have upgraded already.
Obviously.
Interesting that Asus recommends using the native slots for better performance with crossfire/sli and two cards despite the lower bandwidth.
edit - just been reading up on some of the limitations of the NF200 which explains the above. Benchmarks for two cards do vary a bit -...
That's what I've done - £301 for my Q9650 & 8GB 8500 goes a long way towards a free upgrade. Swapped in a dirt cheap e7200 and 2GB with my P5Q Deluxe and I've still got half decent performance while I decide to upgrade now or when the prices settle. Bit of a hassle selling and rebuilding tho.
Here's one difference between them.
The UD7 offers x16/x16 Crossfire/SLI + x16/x8/x8 for three graphics cards while the Maximus IV E specs say x8/x8 for 2 cards and uses it's NF200 chip in tri-SLI mode for x8/x16/16?
It'd be interesting to see your CPU paired with a GTX 580 or something. There's plenty of reviews showing the 5850 is GPU limited on Arma2 even with a lower clocked i7/x58 setup.
