    Spec me: car for GF

It was still under new car warranty at the time the policy was taken out if that makes a difference? This is through My Ford Protect website.

    Spec me: car for GF

Can you see anything better value? These are £22k cars new now and this is within manufacture warranty and we have bought an ongoing Ford Protect warranty. The aim is hassle free ownership and mod-cons as in the OP. Can you be less generic please and state what you actually would buy please as...

Thanks for all replies Ended up with a 70 Plate 2020 Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost MHEV which runs on a chain not a wet belt. £11k from dealer; has just had major service and first MOT etc. Getting Ford warranty for £190/year with no excess.

    Spec me: car for GF

Thanks for the suggestions Alas no facility to charge an electric car so they are out of equation Mazda 2 looks very nice but I think she’d rather something newer. Will have a look at Swift thanks. Honda Jazz fails looks test and Aygo a definite contender. Any thoughts re the Ford 1.0...

    BMW and M Power Owners

I’ve noticed a bunch of BMW franchises selling Cazoo cars with a warranty eg https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104151407592 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202102229352298 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202104141349365 the giveaway is the use of the same...

    BMW and M Power Owners

Thanks, I do completely see where you are coming from, and your worked example is sort of exactly what I was looking for re hitting this sweet spot on the depreciation curve. I wouldn’t have trouble shelling out a bit extra for a newer car and with the right options, but I don’t see any going at...

    BMW and M Power Owners

PS on the topic of adaptive cruise, I have seen perhaps one or two G30 530/540 have it in 6 months. It’s also incredibly hard to search for on both autotrader and the BMW AUC website. I’ve decided I can live without.

    BMW and M Power Owners

Do you think this is a transient phenomenon Fox, or has there been a shift in used car prices? ie are we going to be in similar disbelief that a 7 year old 530d is going for £x in 3 years time? I appreciate you don’t have a crystal ball, but is there not a degree of anchoring here? It used to...

    BMW and M Power Owners

Thanks for comments could it be that things have actually changed though? Inflation on big ticket items has been obscene since covid. A sub 1 year 530d is now >£40k from what I can see. Should that deter me from getting a decent 4 year old one now for £25k, unless the expectation is that this...

Any thoughts on the below G30 530d: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202101288426093 looks fairly well specced, price is OK. It is however not local to me, and I’m not that keen on a long range buy without seeing it; however they claim a 7 day return policy. Has anyone done this recently?
