Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

Depending on what you're buying with Amazon, ebay works out cheaper most of the time anyway. I ordered a couple of cheap apple watch straps £3.99 Amazon, £1.99 Ebay.

    Mortgage Rate Rises

I could - and did - that's not my point. The fact a broker exists as a profession means that the majority of people either can't or don't understand.

    Mortgage Rate Rises

Fixing in a long rate at this point is madness. In hindsight we were all done over by our brokers. Anyone in the last 5 years before the rates went up that wasn't advised by their mortgage broker to fix it for as long as possible has been given terrible advice. Mortgages were the CHEAPEST they...

How much were your energy bills for the last couple of months?

I was £150 for gas an electricity on average for the last couple of months which is insane considering I live on my own and I'm at work half the time. The high standing charges do really make a dent in your bill. I'm with Octopus as well.

Anybody else who uses ALDI Ferrex tools?

If you were a true DIYer, as in using it a handful of times, they are good tools. However if you need any reliability or help, they are pants. They aren't built to last and you get no help once they do break.

    **Unofficial Tyre Thread**

I'm in the same boat as the chap above TBH. I don't want to go overboard but don't want to buy rubbish either. The Cross Climates are coming in at nearly £500 for a full set!

    Post Your Garden!

Seen a lovely big rat on one of my feeders for the birds the other week. Going to have to get inventive with it now.

    Short Circuit Protection

If it was a short circuit on your mains side (Sockets etc) whatever fuse or breaker you would have in your consumer unit would trip/blow. It'll be an issue within the device itself especially if other appliances on the sockets are working.

Power Tools & General Tools Recommendations & Advice

Any budding wood butches got a recommendation for a decent set of router bits? in particular I need one for worktop cutting too.

RCD version of fused wall panels?

To answer your question, no. The money you'll be spending with the hassle of modifying it you would be better paying a handyman to do it for you.

Combi Boiler coming on when cold water tap is run

It doesn't always, trust me. I fitted it all to my last boiler and the only thing that stopped the boiler going was a PRV.

Combi Boiler coming on when cold water tap is run

You'll probably need to fit a pressure reducing valve on the cold main to the boiler and set it at about 3 bar max. Happened at my old home, non return valves and shock arrestors didn't work. supply pressure was too great coming in.

    Jurassic World Dominion

It's Fast and Furious with dinosaurs. My 5 year old absolutely loved it and seeing his reactions made me enjoy it too. The only decent Jurassic Park is the first one, same with the first Fast and Furious. Brilliant films with a novel idea. It was nice to see the original cast back together with...

    Do you service your boiler?

Depends on what manufacturer. You can clean out the burner, renew seals, clean electrodes, check expansion vessel, clean filter and condensate trap. I'm not a gas engineer, but in my opinion there is much more to a service than sticking a flue analyser in and saying bobs your uncle. I'm well...

    Do you service your boiler?

Considering an actual boiler service takes about roughly an hour and requires the engineers to take some bits off to actually do the service, the majority of people in my opinion just seem to wing it. I can appreciate both sides of the coin. When the 9 year old Vokera in my old house started...

Is the electric in my garage hooked up?

You’d be better getting the electrician to fit a Elucian consumer unit, fully loaded with RCBOs (they are about £150 just now from the wholesalers) or spend a couple hundred quid and get an EICR done. I’d probably just get the board changed personally and any remedial stuff done at the back of...

    Energy Suppliers

Paying in advance due to rising costs forecast. They take more now so you don’t get hit with hundreds of pounds worth of debt when you give them meter readings in a few months time. Source: I bought a house that bulb supplies and haven’t used any utilities yet(not moved in) and got the same...
