Yeah I was thinking about that after the post. I suppose originally was thinking from a security point of view - if there was a vulnerability on any of the IoT-type devices, the rest of the network wouldn't be accessible. But all the stuff I'm using is from reputable vendors, so maybe this is a...
The mini boxes (remote TV) communicate directly with the main Q box, rather than over your normal wifi connection, so they still work fine. This link https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/tvs-entertainment/pvrs/1404726/how-to-fix-sky-q-connectivity-problems (all pages) has a lot of info about how the...
I had this same problem. My main issue was the Sky Q Router being unreliable - it would often stop giving you an IP address and require toggling wifi on/off to get an IP address. Also found the Mini boxes acting as wifi extenders never worked that well (at least in our house).
I ended up...
So I got my USG and nanoHD - amazing! Tried the nanoHD at the position where the blue dot is, really decent signal throughout the house pointing up and down (although down is better, get 1gb down in the basement). Think I can run a flat network cable discreetly from the red dot along the old...
Thanks for that. Just noticed in my post above I'd mentioned mounting it horizontally, of course I meant vertically - I think I'll give one a go and see how I get on.
Is it mounted vertically or horizontally?
Wondering if I mounted it near the blue dot, vertically, then the maximum parts of the donut shape of signal would be up/down (i.e. to basement and top floor), with less signal then going horizontally (but that may not be an issue given the house is...
I'm considering getting a Unifi setup in my house and could do with some help from you knowledgable people :)
Current setup is Sky Fibre, 3x Q boxes, 3x Orbi in AP mode, with the Q boxes using the ethernet on the Orbi to communicate with each other (rather than Sky's mesh). Sky Fibre proving...
Thanks for getting back to me. Speaking to the builder there will actually be approx 100mm from the underside of the ceiling board to the top of the void, so there's a little more space than I expected, which is good and opens up a few more speaker options too.
So just weighing up some...
@lucid Sorry to bump this very old thread, just discovered this through a Google. I'm looking for a single stereo bathroom speaker (to run from a Sonos Connect Amp) and my max clearance is around 90-95mm. How do you rate the Kinetik E160-LPS low profile speaker? This would fit, but it would be...
Evening,
Following on from my previous thread I now realise that if I want a glossy monitor capable of 1920x1200 then I'll have to get a 24 incher.
So, I'm just looking for your recommendations really! It seems as though there are many more matt TFTs than glossy ones :/
Cheers,
Nick
Thanks for your reply.
Yeah I've just been doing some more research, and besides the Apple display the only other one I can see is the Lenovo L220x which is 22" and runs 1920x1200. And it's not glossy either - I think i'll have to cut down my requirement list :p
Nick
Hi,
I was thinking of getting an Apple 23" Display to go with my Macbook - but then realised they are much more expensive that any other manufacturer, and they aren't glossy either. :(
Can anybody therefore reccommend a LCD with the following requirements:
Under 24"
1920x1200 native...
Well, I originally thought I would hold off for a few months until the next revision comes out (probably with 3G) - but I can't contain myself and simply have to get one :)
I work 30 secs away from the Arndale Centre (Manchester) so was going to pop to the Apple store to buy one... BUT, if you...
OK fair enough, it's something I should learn to do. I pretty much knew the car would fail on other things anyway, in which case I don't mind paying the bit of labour for them to replace the tyre.
Anyway, that post above about part prices has got me worried. Do you think if I took the failure...
Well I would have assumed if you say it has no MOT then they would know that the condition is pretty bad. I thought the condition option would be referring to cosmetic things. Anyway, i'll try some more quotes and see how if affects it.
Hmm - do you think if I went elsewhere I'd really get a...
I now have the breakdown of what was included in that £606 fee. Does this sound reasonable?
OS front suspension arm
NS front rear suspension bush
OS front tyre
OS front brake hose
NS rear brake pipe
Rear number plate faded and needs replacing (news to me!)
This comes to around £200 parts, plus...
Yeah the £400 offer was for without an MOT, but listed as good condition. It is in good condition cosmetically, which I assume is what they mean given there's a separate question to indicate if it's failed its MOT or not.
MOT actually ran out on 8th Sept and only got round to taking it in for...
I'm thinking i'll take it off the road at the end of the month when the tax expires, until i've decided what to do. Not sure if I really need a car much anymore tbh (though would be handy) since I'm likely to be moving to central Manchester soon and chances of finding a good flat with parking...
