    This Business and Moment...

My promotion at work has just been announced (albeit without confirmation of salary) but I have recieved a strong offer from elsewhere which I suspect will be more than the proposed salary for staying. Feel a bit awkward I suppose but after two years of dissapointing payrises I feel it has to...

    The Budget 2024 thread

Problem HMRC currently face is that they do not really have a joined up record of co-habitating couples so will be a complete faff to recreate it for the new Child benefit. Would much rather than it be paid universally and taxed as income at your marginal rates. Personally a fair chunk better...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

From Kitguru: For those in the UK, Nvidia has confirmed the 4070 Super MSRP at £579, the 4070 Ti Super is £769 and the 4080 Super is £959. I'm a little tempted to scratch an itch but will probably hold off for the time being. 6800XT is fine for everything other than raytracing and truthfully...

Change to MM access after 1st January 2024

I tend to lurk and not comment a huge amount these days and therefore can see my access was removed. It is a fair decision as it restricts access really only to active members.

    Rugby union?

Portugal have played some of the most exciting rugby this tourament. Pleased they are holding Fiji to the sword, despite Australia... Eddie vs Steve would be a corker.

    New TV time.

I did mine through Reliant via ebay. Pleasently surprised to find it is an updated chipset model which does not appear to exist. Running anrdroid 12 straight out of the box! The UI is so much faster than the Google TV chromecast 4k. I would note I am still tweaking the settings for picture...

    New TV time.

I just went for a 55 inch TCL 845k today for £730 to replace my LG 49SJ800V. It's a fairly bright living room so as much as I wanted an OLED I felt the mini led would probably be better. Also supports every HDR format under the sun. Price seemed reasonable for a top range (for the UK at...

The contact detail drop is quite cool. I can imagine it minimising business cards and using it for networking events

Cannot get excited about contact posters - just give me T9 dialling and searching of contacts.

When are you going fully electric?

There are incentives for investments like EIS, VCT and SEIS that are tax reducers, acting in the same way as US rebates. It is just a shame the government has not considered it here to promote ownership. As Sinbad said, the Salary Sacrifice is just for lease. Salary sacrifice is gross so you...

When are you going fully electric?

I have my eye on the Ford Explorer EV for later in the year/early next year, subject to test drive and reviews. Should be able to get it through Salary Sacrifice at work but it is a shame the government is not really incentivising (or offering better tax breaks) like the states do.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (fallen order sequel)

Patch 5 appears to have introduced a bug which prevents you getting bounties if you were not already past that point in the game. Continue to get Access Violation errors. Played for 29 hours and have only exited the game through the menu once...

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (fallen order sequel)

Had a few crashes which prevented me from even getting into the game - quick AMD driver reinstall sorted that - followed by a hard crash once I got off Coruscant. Will give it a few more hours tonight. Enjoying it so far. Lightsaber damage seems a little stronger than the first game and Cal...

    Community Fibre

Just agreed to move to Box Broadband (based out of Crangleigh) which I understand is part of Communityfibre now. Going for 300/300 for £25 which is less than I will be paying for 150/30 with sky at the end of my contract. Process has been super smooth. Had three calls from them to go through...

    Rugby union?

Issue is, I believe, that Steve is hamstrung by Eddies 45 man elite performance group at the start of the season. He cannot change that many players, with the exception of injuries. Would love VRR at LH with Rodd on the bench but realistically cannot happen until the summer tests when he can...

    ***Hogwarts Legacy - RPG***

Runs perfectly fine on my 6800xt. Everything set to ultra except RT. FSR scales to 67% so 960p or something at 2560x1440. Only hope patches and actual optimised drivers improve it further. Missed a chest early doors but I cannot be bothered to go through the opening 45 minutes again.
