    Advice on upgrades needed :)

You should look at getting another 8GB of RAM either by doubling what you've already got so it's matched or getting a new 16GB matched pair like this. When you can afford going to a new AMD CPU & motherboard like you suggested with a B450 board and a R5 2600 that would be a worthwhile upgrade...

Nvidia CEO says next gaming GPUs won't come for "a long time"

I wouldn't be surprised if a new line of NV cards were going to be released over the next few months, they could be re-badged Pascal chips as they have a surplus of them after the dive of mining. The CEO saying new cards won't be coming for "a long time" means absolutely nothing as Nvidia have...

    Best budget GPU £300

The Fury X has HBM which is different to conventional Vram so it works differently and will require less Vram to achieve the same results as having more -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Bandwidth_Memory

    Upgrade finally forced upon me!

If you are going for the Asrock X99 Extreme4 then I would still go for a 5820k as it will pair up with the consumer board better with higher clocks and be overclock able. From comparing the two you won't really lose out on anything worth the limitations of running the Xeon -...

    Upgrade finally forced upon me!

For a cheap upgrade you could look at getting a 2nd hand socket 1366 motherboard & a Xeon x56** CPU (eg. x5670), that would give you six hyper threaded cores that can be overclocked. Or look for a original socket 2011 board and get an 8 core Intel E5-2690 or similar if you want a slightly newer...

    £600 build

Corsair CX are a tier 4 PSU meaning that they aren't the worst in the world but you can do much better. Where as Superflower PSU's are all tier 1 or 2 so you are more likely going to get a more reliable PSU. - http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html I'm not saying there...

^ +1 Corsair CX power supplies aren't very good, as said go for a superflower or an evga one (rebranded superflower)

    1366 X58 Xeon 5650

A Skylake I5/I7 and a 1070 also come with a big extra price tag, seeing as I've had the same motherboard for 6-7 years now I think the old hardware is keeping up fairly well in both workstation performance and it's not exactly that poor at gaming when overclocked. It may be a bit of a hog when...

    PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

It might go the other way though for the budget minded people and people who bought the original and want the NEO end up selling their old consoles flooding the second hand market meaning that there will be loads of dirt cheap consoles floating around. This would mean Sony lose out on sales due...

    Gaming Monitors

Response times are important but the advertised times are not always accurate you have to check monitor reviews generally to get more accurate details on how they actually perform.

    £200 24 inchIPS gaming Monitor

Dell u2414h for 1080p I used it for a fair few games and it was very nice while I had it, moved to the Dell u2515h for 1440p. They are only 60hz so if you wanted a 120hz or 144hz monitor for twitch based fps games you may be better looking at TN panels as you probably wont find many/any IPS high...

Need something stunning - 1080p IPS

Dell u2515h for 1440p or the Dell u2414h for 1080p both are very nice monitors and ok for gaming, I find that you can get some tearing on the u2515h when you turn vsync off. The Dell u2414h has low response times and is good for gaming, tearing is generally less of an issue.

    Cube I7 Stylus

I stuck a 256GB M2 SSD in mine which I got for £60 which has made it now a very useable device it's compact and light device for carrying around for work. Quite good for the money really as I think I have spent around £300 in total, I'm a bit disappointed at the usability of the device when not...

    GTX 1070 - any takers?

Nvidia's pricing model has never made any sense to end consumers unless AMD have also had something to compete with their cards and drop the prices. Nothing new there it's competition that drives prices down, while Nvidia don't have a competing card from AMD of course they are going to charge a...

    GTX 1070 - any takers?

^ this is correct, *50 are low *60 are mid *70 are performance, *80 are high end, *80 Ti's and Titans are extreme/enthusiast. People getting funny over naming conventions here, high end doesn't mean top it just means that it's high on the chart which is true in this case. Lets not forget that...

New PC build, could use some advice

There is 1 CPU and 2 system fan headers with PWM on the motherboard so there is no problem with buying them, even if you just use 3 pin fan power connecters there is no real reason not to buy PWM fans.
