Never the less using 2nd hand genuine parts you can have that all fixed for a quarter of what your quoting (Add a few £££ for labour at a body shop). As you rightly point out its not worth that much there is no point spending 2/3 of the value buying brand new OE parts. At least I don't think so...

I had a mk1 that did this. Ended up doing nearly all the hoses, a blank nipple on the inlet, radiator, pump, thermostat, housing. Everything except heater matrix before it stopped! Not wanting to depress you any further :p Kind Regards Alec
