Thanks for the update, I was tempted by this but in the end decided it's too much to pay to not get a nice oled. Waiting on the hp omen transcend or the gigabyte aorus 32 inch oleds. Just want a nice oled screen with kvm and PD
Sorry I don't think you understand how monitors physically work. You can't add pixels that aren't there. Zoom in on a monitor, see the rgb dots? Those are the pixels, there is a limited amount on each screen. No matter what software hacks you do you won't increase the pixel density.
8k?on a 4k monitor. You had me thinking the higher refresh rates might be possible with some firmware hacks on the panel controller but there's no way of adding more pixels that aren't physically there.
As for your other points they don't sound like anything someone will notice when using the...
This looks like the perfect size, resolution and kvm/PD I need. My only concern is the difference in image quality compared to an oled. I've never owned an oled monitor but I've been bitten by the hype here. I also have a perfectly fine LG 4k 42" monitor now so I want to justify the cost with a...
I'm sorry but do NOT do this. The cables needs to be thick in order to transport the signal at the required bandwidth. Each wire inside the cable has to be of a thicker gauge in order to transfer the signal a longer distance with the same resistance as a shorter thinner cable. Just do your best...
It should remove the tearing effect you see when your refresh rate differs from the rendered fps in a 3d environment. Most noticeable to me when turning around fast in an fps game or something like that.
Personally I'm waiting for the HP because I want the kvm and powered USB C for my work laptop. The fact that they'll have a 3 year burn in warranty too is icing on the cake though I'm concerned it may end up being more expensive than the Dell. If that's the case I may go with the cheaper msi.
The MSI one is soon to be released and should be within your budget. The Dell equivalent is £1200 but the msi is $250 cheaper in the states, fingers crossed that brings it in under 1k here.
The new gen3 qd oled panels should be fine for office work and gaming. Obviously hard to know how the burn in will turn out in the long run but there are methods to reduce the likelihood and some manufacturers are providing a 3 year burn in warranty.
What are the pros of this over the MSI which could be £200 cheaper? Burn in warranty and a curve if that's what you want, dolby vision? Though I'm not sure what that last one really does, the underlying panels are the same.
