Newbie Question: Access Points and Guest Networks

Need some network guidance, please I plan to install internet access in the three linked buildings which make up the church I'm the minister of. Plan is to order a 150/30 FTTP service, (available at the site) with a router in a central location, and wired access points in each building...

Building PCs from my first abacus, but Newbie to watercooling

I've got the case out, put the M/B in position, and you're right, a 280 will not clear the VRM heatsink. But it does look like I can mount a 280 on the front, with pipes at the bottom. Is that a big loss, over top-mounting? (where clearly nothing more than a 240 will fit the case in the top...

Building PCs from my first abacus, but Newbie to watercooling

Watercooling newbie question. Building a new desktop PC - mainly photo-editing (big RAW files) and a wee bit of video. i9-12900K. 64GB Crucial DDR5 - 4800. Stock Intel video for a couple of months until I get the pennies for a 3070 / 3080. Here's the Question. I plan to watercool with a 360mm...

    Memory Advice: Patriot Viper DDR4-28800 (3600), i9-10900K and Z490

I'm looking to build a new PC, to replace my current i7-4770K with 32GB. RAW image processing and 4K video rendering mainly, plus Flight Sim. Looking to an i9-10900K or KF. (and an 3060Ti when available.) MY QUESTION. The Patriot Viper Steel DDR4-28800 is a really good price for 2x32GB...

    IIyama 40" 4k VA monitor

Thanks! I'll buy it before they bump it back up to £469 - seems to 'yo-yo' between those two price-points at Overclockers! Regards KSR

    IIyama 40" 4k VA monitor

Spit, I see you have a 70D, so I guess you're at least moderately keen on photography - that's a great camera! If I buy the 4071, it will be my 'do everything' monitor. This will include Lightroom and Photoshop work, for my own pleasure rather than any commercial purpose. Absolute 100%...

    IIyama 40" 4k VA monitor

Come on guys, Gamble's asked the question and I'm asking it too, as my 28" AOC 4K monitor does another of it's back-fire / gunshot cracking sounds! We Scots may (or may not!) want our independence, but we'd still appreciate your advice! TIA

    Koenigsegg Regera

I think you're correct - looking at my fuzzy image, the last digit could well be a '+' ..... and that's a P5B Coupe in your signature, if I'm not mistaken (and the Dolomite Sprint)

    Koenigsegg Regera

I snapped an image of it on my phone - I've only ever seen these in California - the right-hand boot badge definitely has 4 characters (not very clear) - so I was assuming P85D?

    Koenigsegg Regera

On the subject of electric cars, I was behind a black Tesla Model S P85D yesterday morning, heading onto the Kingston Bridge (M8) in Glasgow. Now that's not something you see in Glasgow very often!

Feeding a 4K monitor - new motherboard or graphic card?

Thanks, Lude and Pooker for your comments. So I guess i'll build it with the board I have, see how I get on with HDMI and go down the new graphics card route if I'm not happy.

Feeding a 4K monitor - new motherboard or graphic card?

Thanks, Pooker. I'll need to research that. Some reviews of the monitor suggested an issue with ATI drivers, but it may well be sorted. That card certainly looks cheaper than a 750 from Nvidia.

Newish Octavia & the 1.6 tdi...

Interested to see a few folks make reference to the TSi petrol engines. I have a 2012MY Skoda Superb, with the 125hp 1.4TSi, and a six speed manual gearbox. It just seems so wrong for such a small capacity engine in a car of this size, but it works for me. It is not the highly stressed higher...

Feeding a 4K monitor - new motherboard or graphic card?

Really looking for some advice here. Thanks for any help. Under my desk, I have a box of PC components - a 4770K, 16GB of DDR3 and an MSI z-87 G43 motherboard. Just needing to get round to building them into a case. I recently bought an AOC 28" 4K monitor. MSI board claims to deliver 4K...

A USB box, containing HDs which easily performs mirror RAID?

This will let you mirror two drives (think they also do a 4-drive version.) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-279-SV

Just been shipped a HDD manufactured 15 months ago...Odd?

Hi guys I'm getting stuff together for a new desktop build, and my main storage is four 2TB drives in Raid10. I ordered four 2TB Toshibas, (not from Overclockers, my bad), of which 1 has shipped, and I await dispatch of the other 3. The one which has arrived was manufactured NOV-2012 -...

partners car sold now buyer says there is a problem with it.

I'm with the other guys on here. The car is his, and it's his problem, not yours. If you are asked questions prior to the sale, be honest. Whilst you don't need to volunteer information, you must not withhold information if asked. It's a while since I sold a car privately - used to do it a...
