I test drove one and had the same experience so you're not alone.
Turn eco mode off and it doesn't happen though! You do have to turn this off each time you get in the car.
My hand was forced with recent issues with my previous car.
Ended up part exchanging my car for £3000 (webuyanycar offered £2000!).
Honda civic 1.5 sport, 2 years warranty. Ended up being £19600 - the £3000 they gave me. £16600 cash out of my bank. Wasn't pleasant.
I've claimed on the...
Frustrating squealing coming from my front pads, gen10 1.5 sport.
I've only had the car 3 weeks, going back to dealer next week for them to check but it seems this is a common thing and the dealer is unlikely to find the pads are low?
Well here I am after driving today, incredibly annoyed that the problem has become apparent again and hasn't fixed the issue!
£100 lighter and hours of 3 people's time.
Live and learn, I think it's time to get rid. Nobody can find the issue!
I would just ignore the noise but the tyres at the...
My father-in-law has a carport, so we did it under there.
One tip though, if the new top mounts arrive and it seems like they're wrong, make sure they don't pull apart. I had a trip back to euro parts yesterday to say it was wrong. He pulled it apart and flipped the bearing over.
Couldn't actually confirm it without process of elimination.
We found if we jacked the front of the car up and turned the wheel quickly each way it would replicate the noise and it was definitely coming from the upper part of the strut.
All done today and the noise has gone! Also feels a lot...
I stripped everything down with the help of my father in law. Isolated it to the top strut mounts which we are replacing tomorrow along with the drop links as apparently they often break on removal.
Hopefully this does the job.
Thanks. No, he didn't charge me but I gave him a tenner for his time as I could tell the wheels had been off, so they didn't just do nothing at all. They're MOT testers too so at least gave me a bit of security knowing it's nothing major safety wise.
How do I go about spraying soapy water on...
Okay, so this just got infuriating. I'm actually angry now.
Dropped it off to garage number 3, said they would call with what they find and a quotation. Dropped it off at 9.15am.
2pm and I give them a call as I haven't heard anything. The man says "oh that's strange, I just moved your car...
I spoke to a receptionist rather than the mechanic, so couldn't tell. Needless to say I've collected the car now and booked in elsewhere once again for Thursday.
Thank you, it's done 89k. No suspension work done at all other than drop links last year. Sound is quite clearly from the front driver side and I can feel the feedback through the steering wheel.
Thanks all. I think I'll try another garage as obviously safety is the main thing. It passed the mot in September in the same garage as well.
I completely understand that the best jobs are the ones which are routine and you don't have to use your brain, like servicing. It seems this is the type...
Hi all, quite a frustrating problem but I guess it may be hard to find without completely disassembling the area in question.
I suspect it might be the top mounts, but garage is reluctant to do anything until it "gets worse".
The garage always wants the car in at 8am, there's normally moisture...
We have a samsung eco bubble which was bought when we moved in back in 2012. Still going strong, touch wood. I think we have more than got our money's worth out of it with 2 kids.
