Hello chaps!
I'm looking to upgrade my system from 10900k -> 7800X3D.
I was wondering what the best possible memory thats currently on sale here at OcUK would be to pair with this CPU?
I've been a bit out of the loop due to music work but this upgrade is purely for gaming (mostly Yuzu...
Guys thank you kindly for the replies!
So, there is a certain game out recently which everyone is emulating hence why I want to up my CPU so that it runs smoother as Yuzu is CPU bound.
@jigger that G.Skill kit doesnt seem to be listed on OcUK...is there comparable memory on sale here?
I want...
Hi all!
I'm a bit out of the loop but have the following:
Phanteks Luxe 2 (custom watercooled)
10900K @ 5.4Ghz (Phanteks Glacier WB)
32GB Patriot Viper DDR3 RAM (custom timings but can't remember what!)
RTX 3090 w/Waterblock
Superflower 1000W Modular PSU
I'm looking to upgrade the...
I have another thread on here (albeit on Intel) with the same RAM and it won't work at rated speeds or timings either. I'm starting to wonder about the viper steel series to be perfectly honest!
Hey man thanks for reply - the XMP profiles don't post. At all.
Here is what I'm currently running (and is stable):

I've been messing with my 10900Ks ring ratio and the Viper DDR4 memory timings and can tell you games feel waaaaay smoother with lower latencies. Its difficult to describe how much more of an immsersive experience it was when I played at say 41.9ms vs 66ms which is what my systems default BIOS...
Yes, I had also wondered this.
Well, I had just the one pair originally of this memory (totaling 16GB) but I recently added another pair. I couldn't get the RAM to boot at rated speeds even when just using two sticks :(
Here is the product page for the ram btw: https://assets.website-files.com/5cdb2ee0b102f96c3906500f/5dd6b314aa0dd278b0b6efc6_PVS416G440C9K%20Sku%20Sheet_Copyable_062819.pdf
Hi guys I've always been a little confused as to why my ram won't post anything above 4000Mhz on my Vision G (F7C BIOS)?
I have the following:
Gigabyte Z490 Vision G
Intel 10900K @ 5.1Ghz 1.35v manual voltage Turbo LLC on Phanteks Glacier CPU block
Radeon 5700XT with EK block
32GB Viper...

Well, funnily enough chaps I only upgraded the ram in the last few days so I was running the 10900K with old ram and 5700XT and that fixed my micro stutter.
Not going to lie the new Ram is lovely though but I only really see the difference on my music work not so much for gaming.
I now have...
Hi guys,
I thought I would post back my findings.
I managed to fix my micro-stutter in games but it did involve an upgrade.
I bought a 10900K, Gigabyte Vision G & 32GB of 4000Mhz DDR4.
Now, I don't get any micro-stutter in games with the Radeon 5700XT.
I think its a bit of a joke that I had...
Thanks for the replies guys I just installed a new set of 32GB Viper Steel Series 4400mhz.
Whilst it took a while to get it to actually boot on my mobo (Z490 Vision G), once I set it to 4000Mhz and relaxed the timings it made a huge difference to audio production.
Really pleased.
Hi guys
What is the current sweet spot for speed/capacity to feed a Gigabyte Z490 Vision G with i7 10900K?
Its used mainly as a music work machine in a professional recording studio and my current ram is this:
Corsair Hyper X 3200Mhz 16GB (2x8GB)
I think I'd like 32GB and want to try and...
The plot thickens!
After trawling the web I have discovered that disabling ULPS in MSI Afterburner DEFINITELY helps but its still not perfect.
I've just installed a 10900K and Gigabyte Z490 Vision G motherboard...its still micro stuttering so even though I knew all along its the Radeon...it...
Hi guys thanks for the replies.
I hear what you are saying BUT I originally tested the card with the stock cooler on air and it was micro-stuttering right from day one.
The waterblock tightening I realise now, in retrospect was a false positive.
My 1080TI never stuttered not once and was...
