If I'm looking for a card for Iray rendering as well as gaming then would I be better going for a 980 rather than the 1060? I'm thinking that the extra CUDA cores will make rendering on the 980 much faster

I've got a H55 in the wife's PC and it's running really quietly. Swapped the noisy stock fan for a Noctua NF-F12 PWM and it's virtually silent keeping an FX-8320 cool. Certainly no grinding or rattling so sounds like you may have been seriously unlucky and got another duff one.

I'm about to migrate 2500 users to Azure and Office365 - or rather an outsourcer is going to do it for me :) It's going to end up being an on-prem/off-prem hybrid solution so the winner for me is the integration between on-prem Windows Server AD and Azure AD.

Thanks for the help but I managed to find enough brain cells to realise that, it's why I asked about AMD versions. Back at the start of one of the threads there's a mention of future AMD versions. Surely the only difference is the block?

Any ETA on the AMD versions? I need something quiet to cool my FX-8320 and the 240 looks perfect. I'm sat on a train trying to work out if it makes sense to buy one anyway and swap the CPU block.

WHS 2011 is based on Windows Server 2008 There's no new Home Server, instead it's effectively replaced by Windows Server 2012 Essentials.

I've got a Mini-ITX Server running WS2012 Essentials. It's the home media server and backs up my laptop and the home PC and then gets backed up itself to Azure Backup. It's also the DC for our company and hooked into Office365. It's also running a few VMs with VirtualBox.

If you're just using it for backup then why not look at a business account with someone like Livedrive. It works the same way as the personal accounts, continuous protection running in the background.

+1 To that. I've got an Antec NSK4000 case which is probably as small as ATX cases can get and no chance of getting the H100i in it whereas if you can go mITX then the BitFenix Prodigy is physically smaller than my case but will take the H100i.

I've not tried a tuner card but as long as there are Windows Server 2008 drivers then you should be ok. Virtualbox runs without any problems.

I'd suggest looking at the i5-3450S. It's more expensive than the i3 but quad core and lower power draw - 65W.
