    GTX 1060

If I'm looking for a card for Iray rendering as well as gaming then would I be better going for a 980 rather than the 1060? I'm thinking that the extra CUDA cores will make rendering on the 980 much faster

    Good cloud storage with FTP?

Livedrive used to have ftp access. Not sure if it still does I stopped using it a couple of years ago.

Corsair H55 Noise and fan controller advise

I've got a H55 in the wife's PC and it's running really quietly. Swapped the noisy stock fan for a Noctua NF-F12 PWM and it's virtually silent keeping an FX-8320 cool. Certainly no grinding or rattling so sounds like you may have been seriously unlucky and got another duff one.

    Microsoft Azure

I'm about to migrate 2500 users to Azure and Office365 - or rather an outsourcer is going to do it for me :) It's going to end up being an on-prem/off-prem hybrid solution so the winner for me is the integration between on-prem Windows Server AD and Azure AD.

    ** EKWB-PREDATOR - AVAILABLE NOW **

Will it be a whole new bundle or can I pre-order the Predator now and then get the fitting kit?

    ** EKWB-PREDATOR - AVAILABLE NOW **

Thanks for the help but I managed to find enough brain cells to realise that, it's why I asked about AMD versions. Back at the start of one of the threads there's a mention of future AMD versions. Surely the only difference is the block?

    ** EKWB-PREDATOR - AVAILABLE NOW **

Any ETA on the AMD versions? I need something quiet to cool my FX-8320 and the 240 looks perfect. I'm sat on a train trying to work out if it makes sense to buy one anyway and swap the CPU block.

AIO or custom to quieten power hungry kit?

I'm re-using a box I built as a home server as a gaming PC and need to quieten things down. The CPU is an AMD FX-8320 with a stock cooler and the GFX card is a Radeon R9 285, both of which are power hungry space heaters. I'm not really looking to OC just want to reduce the noise levels. My...

    versatile home server

If you're happy with just one server and just want to play around with virtualisation then why not use virtualbox or VMware workstation? My home server is running WS2012 Essentials with 120GB SSD for the OS, 3TB WD Red for data, 3TB WD green for backup and a 60GB SSD for my VDI VM. I use the VDI...

    VM Server build suggestions

If you're worried about power consumption, noise etc. I'd suggest questioning if you actually need a physical box. If you've got a decent internet connection then Azure or AWS could give you the VMs and SQL Server that you need with the added advantage of being able to instantly add capacity if...

    Hosting advice for small business?

As well as hosted Exchange and SharePoint (re-branded as SkyDrive Pro), Office365 includes webhosting so all you'd need to add is a domain name.

    HyperV/ESXi? Howto?

WHS 2011 is based on Windows Server 2008 There's no new Home Server, instead it's effectively replaced by Windows Server 2012 Essentials.

What do you use your home server for?

I've got a Mini-ITX Server running WS2012 Essentials. It's the home media server and backs up my laptop and the home PC and then gets backed up itself to Azure Backup. It's also the DC for our company and hooked into Office365. It's also running a few VMs with VirtualBox.

    Hosted Storage

If you're just using it for backup then why not look at a business account with someone like Livedrive. It works the same way as the personal accounts, continuous protection running in the background.

smallest case that can handle h100i

+1 To that. I've got an Antec NSK4000 case which is probably as small as ATX cases can get and no chance of getting the H100i in it whereas if you can go mITX then the BitFenix Prodigy is physically smaller than my case but will take the H100i.

    AMD FX-8350 vs i7 3770 vs i7 3820

I went with AMD for my similar requirements. Although I also wanted to keep costs to a minimum so went with the FX-8 8320 and a 970 board. Including 16GB RAM and a new PSU the whole lot came to £300. I can't speak for IvyBridge as I haven't used it but I'm happily running multiple server and...

    Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011

I've not tried a tuner card but as long as there are Windows Server 2008 drivers then you should be ok. Virtualbox runs without any problems.

New Build, low cost, low idle power

I'd suggest looking at the i5-3450S. It's more expensive than the i3 but quad core and lower power draw - 65W.
